Let's work together to get the flyers earlier! Improvements to Rewards system :)

My favourite thing about the SC community is how we all work together as a team and share our knowledge and everyone benefits I want to thank everyone who takes the time to post a good deal, coupon or flyer. I think I speak on behalf of everyone on here when I say that we all appreciate your help and kindness


I'd like to make some tweaks to the flyers rewards system to encourage more people to scan and share flyers. First of all even if you have VERY LITTLE tech expertise don't be scared to grab your camera or phone and take pictures of your flyers no matter how bad the quality may be. Even if the picture is upside down that is totally fine! Even if you can't upload the pictures you can email them to couponlady and me at [email protected] and we will upload them for you! We'll be happy to work closely with you to help you easily submit the flyers.

Now some of you might be wondering.. oh no bad quality images! Nooooooooo Well don't worry. I'm extending the flyers rewards system to allow multiple submissions for the same flyer (and also get points for it) as long as the new submission adds something new to the previous one. So let's say someone posts a very early scan of the flyer but it's not great quality and you think you can submit a better quality / more readable version, go for it! You'll also get points! So please do not criticize poor quality flyer scans. I think we'd all rather have the flyers as early as possible and then get a better quality version in a few days than nothing at all early.

We also want to encourage posting of flyers from different regions and provinces. You are more than welcome to post a flyer that has already been posted if it's from a different region. So basically anyone who submits a new version of a flyer that adds something new whether it is better quality or a different region would also get points.

Now I know some people were upset in the past that they posted a non-Ontario flyer and didn't get many thumbs up. Please don't be! Flyers get hundreds of thousands of views and many people benefit from them!! I'm not even exaggerating, look at http://flyers.smartcanucks.ca/canada...pr-27-to-may-3
See how many views it has so far? Ontario gets more thumbs up because of the nature of our country... Ontario has the largest population and hence more demand/traffic but that does not mean there aren't thousands of Canadians from other provinces who are not from Ontario and looking for flyers.

And finally, please give flyer threads a thumbs up and like their threads. It'll take you a second and be a nice thank you gesture for their hard work.

I hope this helps us get the flyers early and benefits us all. If anyone has ideas or suggestions to even improve this more please let me know. I'll update the original rewards thread to reflect on these new rules.

i will say i like the idea of being able to post double flyers. Although, yes I am happy to see the flyers early, it's sometimes so hard to read them, and I do want to see sizes and quantities and what the selection is.

The sizes seemed to be an SC issue too - should be fixed now (but will help with blurry flyers)

It is amazing how much the early flyers assist in planning shopping for our own families and for donations we're able to make! Thanks very much to all who participate!

I also really appreciate the comments made in each of the flyer threads! It often happens that someone else notices a deal that I would otherwise have missed. Working together works wonders!

I LOVE the fact that I can come on here early in the week like Monday and Tuesday and know exactly what I need to get come Friday, I even shock neighbors cause i'll say OH don't get that yet, wait til Friday, they are like how do you know this .. do I share my secret..? maybe.. LOL

There is a sticky at the top with full details but each flyer is 1 flyer point. You can redeem 10 flyerpoints for a $5 gift card (or wait and redeem in multiples of 10)
