Pretty easy question....
- what is it that you need the laptop for, work / school / travel / ???
- what is your budget?
I have a laptop I bought in 2010 and it is still going strong. I use it for travel, watching movies, browsing the web and word processing.

True...as long as it's the right laptop for you i.e. does everything you want it to do, and perhaps more but at your budget

Depends what you want to do! For day to day web surfing and word processing laptops are great. Any level of gaming or serious processing (photo or business software) they are quickly blown out by desktops if you consider performance per dollar. It is actually very easy to build a PC if you are so inclined. If you would like any advice on either please let me know!

Recently came across a site after my friend who advised to me check out the deals, well, what he said was right. boxxaroo website has the best deals in Canada after I did a thorough research online, they have Laptops and desktops (also Gaming). I bought one from boxxaroo after following my friends suggestion. The Laptop I bought was a Lenovo T430S which was in pristine excellent condition only for 299.99 including Free shipping.

For me, desktop is something that is not of great use anymore, even on my workplace we use laptops...
The best alternative is LENOVO Z51-70 80K601CLPB I ordered this one being on business trip. I bought it with coupons so I didn't need to pay shipping fee for free.

There are so many good windows laptops/utrabooks nowadays, you really aren't loosing anything if you don't buy Apple.
