We don't eat them!!! This is actually our 4 th year having chickens and when Fall comes and it's too cold to keep them here, we always bring them to a farm nearby... the lady has all kinds of animals and is always happy to get them for FREE :)

LOVE THEM!!! It's my dream to get out of the suburbs (yuck) and move back to the country. Would love to have a few chickens someday... for eggs only!

I've always said to my dh, if we can raise chickens and grow veggies we'll never starve! But we have 2 dogs - I think the chickens would be laying scrambled eggs! (although our little robin family is doing well - check out the post in the Tea Room -3 babies born today)

Do you keep them in a pen or are they free range? How do you deal with the chicken coop poop?

they are in a coop, but allowed to go out freely during the day when we're around....
they never go very far and always come back to the coop by themselves when it starts getting dark out :) The poop is compostable!
Where's the tea room?? I need to see that ;)
