I have a Mac OSX and I just looked online for a package like Microsoft office for Mac's and they want 199.00Does anyone know of a site I can get free software and that even a Computers for Dummies person such as myselfcan download? I would recommend you to download Open Office, since it's almost like MS Office, but for free :

The only official Office suite for Mac is Microsoft Works.

Open Office will do everything the Microsoft products will do as well as allow you to read and save documents in other formats not recognized by Microsoft Office or Microsoft Works. It is open-source software and is free to download from Sun Microsystems.

I can't recommend downloading unpurchased or cracked copies because it's technically illegal.

BTW, We do have a tech support section in the Electronics Deals section where questions like this would be quite at home! Us geeks need something to do over there.

True downloading software music and videos is illegal, but it's all over the wicked wide web if you know where to look.

Sorry guys! i wasn't asking anybody to suggest anything"illegal" I had just remembered that there had been a site for Microsoft (?) that provided school age kids and families to acces that kind of software for free. Having said that I am COMPLETELY grateful for your help and I may be sending up an SOS later today. That is, if I was going to try to use this material, which I absolutely will not, what with it being illegal and all that

I have another question if I can impose upon you one more time ( I promise to post these in the computer section after this) Do any of you do Hotspex surveys or play on Teet? The reason for my question is that I can't make the wheel on Hotspex or the dice roll on Teet work anymore. I thought it might be a popup blocker issue but I don't have that feature engaged. Any ideas?

As for your other question, I'm not familiar with Hotspex or Teet but they appear to be browser-based applications. Despite not knowing what they are, some basic things to try/consider are:

1) Did the functions you refer to work for you previously? If so, what changed since they stopped working? Did you run a software update, upgrade your browser or install any other programs? Did you change any settings in your firewall or security programs?

2) Make sure you have the latest versions of Javascript and Adobe Flash installed.

Once we have that basic info we can help a bit more.
