So I've decided to make a gift basket, spending only $25, and everything must be bought with coupons.
And I did very well this weekend! All totals include 13% tax. And I still have a little over $6 left to spend (and a few FPCs to use!).

I also got overage at No Frills! I had handed the coupon to the cashier first, and mentioned that she would have to decrease the value in order to match the product. Imagine my surprise when I got home and looked at my receipt to see she put in the full value!

    Walmart #1

Schick Quattro Trimmer $7.00 - $4.00 FB coupon
    PM RCSS Lady Speed Stick Deodorant X2 $1.97 - $2 WUB 2
    PM RCSS Special K Cracker Chips $1.98 - $1.00

    Total OOP = $7.60

    Walmart #2
Crest Toothpaste $1.67 (couldn't PM it, as the No Frills flyer didn't have a matching size)
PM No Frills Oral B Toothbrush $1.00 - $4.50 WUB toothpaste & toothbrush
    Nestle Pure Life 1.5 L $0.98 - $1.00
Nestle Pure Life Sparkling Orange Flavoured Water $1.00 - $1.00

Total OOP = -$1.35 - Walmart paid me!

    No Frills
    Sunlight Laundry Detergent $3.97 - $2.00
    Olay Bar Soap x3 $1.00 - $2 WUB 2 - $2.00 WUB 1

    Total OOP = $1.88

    Shoppers Drug Mart
Cover Girl Nail Enamel $1.99 (clearance) - $2.00
    Kelloggs Granola Bars $2.49 - $1.00
    Royal Facial Tissues $3.99 - $1.00
    Vidal Sassoon Shampoo $3.99 - $2.00
    Playtex 360 Tampons $3.79 - $2.00

Total OOP = $9.74 (and I remembered to buy a $10 gift card ahead of time for extra points!)

Total of entire trip without coupons (with taxes) = $45.35
Total of entire trip after coupons (with taxes) = $19.22 - $1.35 (from Walmart) = $17.87

And of course, all those items were on sale. I can only imagine the regular retail value!

It was from the last P&G insert. Expires on the 31st. You might have been able to order one from the brandsaver site too (I didn't though, so I can't say for sure).

From the way I've read that coupon, you are supposed to have bought paste, rise, and brush or floss; not just a brush and paste. There is no "or" in the statement (but for deciding to buy a brush or floss), and based on the high coupon value it makes sense that you would have to buy all 3 items. It's awesome they didn't give you a hard time about it!

I read it a few times, and the cashier and customer service manager read it, and we all interpreted it as paste and brush. And if buying the cheapest brush and paste at my local Walmart it is about $4. Now I want to look at it again!

good shopping, however there is also a $2.50 coupon when you buy the paste and brush so the $4.50 one is for three products, lucky you though my walmart interprets it as three products and read the print it says no excess cash is to be given to the customer or applied to the transaction...my walmart follows this as well

I guess I didn't read the coupon close enough and got lucky! I didn't have the $2.50 one though - just the $4.50.

No theme, just everything had to bought with coupons. So I'm trying to get a variety of everything (although unfortunately it's going to be a very feminine basket).

Well a job well done. I have also been giving out to neighbours some of our stockpile. DH helped a neighbour build a deck and he gave DH an expensive bottle of hard liquor, he does not drink but we will have on hand when that neighbour comes by and we were talking coupons so I came in the house and gave 2 bags of BBQ themed builidng the deck to BBQ so(VH for ribs, mustard, ketchup, specialty mustards, relish, Baby Rays BBQ sauce, Ziplocs all sizes (all stuff that I we purchased for 50 cents or free of 99 cents at the most) and a few SCRUNGES to clean up and realized after - I should have made a BBQ basket/welcome basket - they just bought the house in the winter. People who appreciate each others random acts of kindess are far and few between except here on SC of course. Whoever gets your basket will be thrilled.
