I think I read the suggestion on SC but can't remember. Thank You to the person who let us all know...
My husband PM'ed 12 packs of Diet Coke at Target to Rexall's 3 day special of 2.99 per case. Target's flyer advertised a $5.00 GC with purchase of 4 cases.
The cashier offered to deduct the 5.00 from the transaction so he agreed. Total cost for 4 cases was $7.86 ($1.97 per case)!

I don't drink coke but I've been watching people in the US on youtube explain how to do gc promos like this for years, so the wheels in my head started turning as soon as I saw it and imagined up the same scenario you did, albeit having to come back with the GC for my next purchase.
I can't wait to see what other great deals like this target will have for us in the future!

It's nice cashier allowed you to use $5 gc with your purchase (not next one)!

Thier policy is very confusing. I have pm @10 same items and used cpns @ target with no issue.
