Went to Canadian Tire yesterday to use up my $10 gift card from promo a couple of weeks ago. Was going to buy child sized adirondak chair for my 2 year old nephew as part of his birthday gift. So I pick up the chair- which was also on sale for $7.99 and a package of canning jar lids to make up the total to near $10. When cashier scanned the chair it came up at $9.99 so free with scope and still had my $10 gift card so picked up a box of canning jars on sale for $6.99 ( which I think is a good deal- don't know reg price). So I only had to pay $1.28 in tax. Woo hoo! DH was amazed at the free chair!
Earlier in the week we stopped in to Shoppers to drop off a prescription. While we were waiting I went to visit the clearance section and lo and behold they were putting out new items. I found Arnica cream that we go through a lot of for $3 - regular price $12.49 so bought all 4, then they had rescue remedy drops and spray and creams also on sale for $3 regular price was $15.49. Then I saw the dove bodywash 2 packs for $2 and a quo eyeshadow kit for $5 regular $20. I start adding up and realize I am over $50 and that day was 20 x the points when you spend $50. So i left DH at store while I ran home and printed off the coupon and got the dove body wash $2 coupon. Luckily we live close by and we were still waiting for the prescription to be ready.
So we paid $62.41 OOP and the receipt says we saved $209.82. Plus we will get 20 x the points to be added later. Here is the best part... some of the rescue remedy had 500 bonus points attached to them so I ended up with 570 regular points and earned 5500 in bonus points.
All items had 2016/2017 expiry dates! DH was really impressed with that haul as he loves his natural products.
Very happy shopping this week! This thread is currently associated with: Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart

Scop is when an item is scanned at the wrong price. For stores that participate in scop they have to give you the item for free or up to $10 off if price is more than $10. If you have more than one of the same item you only get the first item free unless it has a different UPC code. Stores participating in scop usually have a small sign at the till. Alot of stores don't give it to you unless you mention it though. Friday (or the start of a new sale) is a good day to shop because quite often there are some items they haven't changed in the system yet so you can get them for free. My husband wasn't aware of scop until i left him at the till to get more items and he read the sign.
