I know that myself our Walmart does not have access to complete credit card information or debit card information. You should keep your receipts yourself, if you do argue with them then the information isc can be retrieved if you have the exact day and they would need the last 4 digits of the credit card or debit card. It also helps if you know the total cost exactly of your bill. If you paid cash then they can follow the no receipt return policy and you could be SOL because the item may be sold elsewhere and not just at walmart. The credit card complete information does not show up on your bill either just a series of xxxxxxxx and then the last 4 digits. This is the right to privacy policy. I hope that helps. I personally shred receipts that have more than the last 4 digits. As well everyone should be careful disposing of credit card bills in the trash. They have your complete credit card information on them and can be a potential theft item.

ive returned plenty of things to walmart without a receipt and it has never been an issue. they do however never give cash back, but put it on a gift card. So true about the credit card bills though. i have bills going back for years stored in my personal records of stuff, slightly paranoid about people stealing the info. im broke enough, don't need to lose any money.

i should however also mention that my local walmart is usually pretty awesome, the cashiers and reps know me (im in there way too often) and never give me hassles about my coupons price matching scop or anything. i guess it would depend on the store

I know Walmart gets a lot of hate but my local Walmart also gives me absolutely no hassles. Actually, all of the Walmarts in my area are quite pleasant.
