I had all four wisdom teeth removed at the same time about 8 years ago, and it was awesome. Because they were doing all four they put me under general anesthetic, but it only took 10 minutes to actually get them all out. Going under was very quick, a slight prick from the needle and then off to lala land. I woke up enough for them to walk me over to recovery (apparently I get giggly when I come out of sedation), then I had an hour to wake up before they sent me home. I got and Rx for antibiotics and Percocet painkillers and kept to a fairly liquid diet for a couple of days. The Percocets worked wonders on the pain, and I can see how people get addicted to them, they are pretty fun. Luckily I only needed to take them for a couple of days because I healed up pretty quickly and Advil seemed to work by then. OP - if you need to have them out, go and do it. I was nervous to, but I honestly had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone. I've had 2 C-sections as well and would take wisdom teeth surgery over that any day.

I had all 4 of mine out at once. 3 never broke through and the one that did only broke through partially and I ended up getting a cavity.
They put me out for them, I woke up and it was all done, got a script for T3s and went on a trip to Europe 3 days later.
    No biggie.
Love like crazy everyday and smile.

    I've only got 3 too!!

I'm 23 and I'm getting all three yanked July 18th. TERRIFIED! I booked a week and a half off work just in case ... because I'm a baby and all ya know

I'm going to a specialist who does this type of thing every day. Luckily they are real close and only a 5 minute drive from home which makes the stress aspect a whole lot less. DH will be driving me home obviously.

According to the specialist the tooth I am missing (bottom left) is the best one to be missing as it generally is the most troublesome for people. Apparantly though two of my teeth are "impacted" because they haven't completely broken the gum line...neither has the third but for some reason its not impacted and therefore slightly cheaper which I am thankful for as I do not have insurance.

I will be completely knocked out for this all to go down and I was quoted $1250 or around there for all three. Then I get a script and its off to Walmart we go for drugs

Don't be terrified! The thing to be more scared about is leaving them in. Good god the pain that I had after years of sideways wisdom teeth jamming into the straight ones.

The surgery was a walk in the park compared to the headaches, ear pain, jaw pain. gum pain (it can get infected) etc

Don't be scared, I have you all beat! I had 5 (!!!!), all impacted. I had them out about 7-8 years ago, with an oral surgeon. I was knocked right out and woke up in a daze. Actually, I was in a daze for a few days lol. I was given antibiotics, percocet and oxycontin. My Dr. was so amazed that I had 5 he was apparently showing the office my x-rays lol

Actually the one did get infected. I woke up one morning and the whole one side of my face was swollen, I couldn't talk, couldn't close my mouth, couldn't sleep on that side, etc, the list goes on. Thats what gave me the final push to get my behind into gear. So my regular dentist gave me antibiotics while I waited two months for my consultation and everything healed. Now just crossing my fingers nothing more happens in the meantime.

My uncle had 5 too and apparantly his were all impacted as well. Kudos to you, I'd be even more scared if I had that many then again I think they would of had to come out a LONG time sooner ... and when I had coverage

I had both my lower ones removed abt. 2 months back.

Both were impacted and one was almost horizontal i.e parallel to the ground. They were not infected or painful or anything . This was more of a preventative measure as its only a matter of time before something major happens

Both were removed with local anesthia with a gap of abt. 10 days between.

i coud have removed both in one sitting , but then I would have had to go for general anesthia..so decided to get each removed in 2 diff. Sittings with local anesthia

$ 2,300 for all 4 is not bad at all..I know surgeons who charge that much just for one

Besides the pain killer's ..regular icing of your face from outside will keep the swelling down..post surgery.

Also rinse your mouth with warm salt water after the surgery and do some mouth exercises the next day. This will keep your mouth from locking up.

The warm salt water rinsing did wonders for me
