There is a baby shower coming up that I can't attend, so I decided to purchase a gift online from the recipient's registry and have it sent to the event hostess' home. The free shipping, no minimum promo with Chapters Indigo would fit the bill perfectly, especially as the item I wanted to buy was just under $25. I noticed after making my purchase that I couldn't mark the registry item as "purchased", so I contacted Chapters Indigo. It turns out that it can only be updated by the registry creator! WHAT? Why bother with a registry, then? Aren't registries supposed to prevent duplicates? Doesn't this ENCOURAGE duplicates?
I absolutely do not want to send a message to my cousin to tell her, "Oh, by the way, sorry for the spoiler, but could you mark [gift on the way] as 'Purchased' on your registry?". I'd say that's a wee bit tacky.
I'm imagining twelve gifts at the shower, every one containing the same item...hey, it could happen LOLThis thread is currently associated with: Indigo Chapters Coles BookstoreJesus saves!

That is so stupid! You're right....what's the point of a registry if the person buying the gift can't update it!
Well, if they end up with multiples of the same present, maybe they'll realize that Chapters was probably not the best place to register for next time lol.

So I guess the issue could be because it's a "Wish List" instead of a registry. I don't know if there really is a difference...
