Well, the trick was the bin was outside the entrance to a subsidized apartment building. I didn't see the harm in using it, I put my letters in that mailbox all the time. No sooner than I dispose of the cup - a maintenance worker comes running towards me to chastise me about how that garbage is for the tenants of the building only. Now I can understand if I was tossing a whole Glad bag in there but an 8oz styrofoam cup? Would he prefer me to litter on their grounds? (Not that I would.) Sorry but I just found it d0uchey of him to be such a stickler about it....still do.
