You go to one of the Toronto universities right? They automatically buy you insurance in your tuition (and the only way not to have it is if you proactively fill out a form to opt out and get a refund). You should go to the student union office and ask how to make a claim
Couponteen101, you are making me regret for ditching dentistry!
It turns out the main culprit for throwing my stuff [coffee, organic oil, chocolate syrup worth about $40] was my DAD! I falsely blamed my brother! [My bro is always the one who fights with me so he was the first 'suspect'. But he did helped my dad in throwing those things]
My dad thought I am getting the acne because of using old stuff [What on earth?] and he was not aware that I have bought these just a week ago. Anyway, my dad will now have to buy me these stuff so ya...but still MAD!
My mom miss me....8 years since she died this year.............:(
All of these Facebook stories remind me of when I had one lady buy an air mattress from me "for her daughter".
I tested the mattress myself - hadn't deflated it until I was packing it up because of the sale. It cost about $130 new if I recall (I researched this, the mattress was given to me and I had no use for it). But anyway, I knew it was in great condition and made sure of it even before listing it because I didn't want problems.
Boy, was I naive thinking my due diligence would spare me from the drama!
First came the big sob story about why her daughter needs the mattress and how she's a single mom but trying to help her daughter out, blah, blah, blah... (Should have been red flag #1... seriously lady, do you want to make a purchase or are you auditioning for a talk show segment?) But I'm a schmuck. I fell for it and decided to sell it to her for less than my list price and eventually we agreed on the price of $60.00 and set a time for her to come and get it.
Well anyway, on the day of the sale she stands me up for our appointment. So I text her and she responds by barraging me with texts to please hold it - that she's in the hospital with her young son. I was cynical but erred on the side of compassion just in case she was being honest (because I'm a schmuck lol).
So I hold it for her and agree to another pick up time. Well, we approach the second agreed upon time with her claiming to be on her way and minutes before she was supposed to be here - she texted me, "Is it alright if I give you $40.00?"
This after standing me up because of the unlikely to be true hospital visit and wasting my time. So I tell her no. She texts me back - "Okay well I'm going to be a little late because I have to go to the bank to get the extra $20.00". (My blood might've been running hot at that point... sure enough there was no "extra" $20.00... it was the price we agreed on!)
So now we have our third agreed upon time - which she was late for by the way. Well, she shows up, money changes hands - I help her get the box in her car to expedite her exit from my driveway and my life. ;P
TWO Days later, she writes me, "Umm, Can I have my money back? My daughter said the mattress leaks." but get this? She wanted to keep the mattress AND have her money back.
I was dumbfounded.
I told her the sale was Final but I can think of a certain other "F word" I wanted to tell her. Luckily she did f-word off after my firm but expletive-free reply.
But yeah. People suck sometimes. Entitled people suck all of the time.
That sucks! I was always really really lucky since my moms insurance plan covered me for the entire length of my university career up until I turned 25. Hold onto those receipts for tax time, hopefully they will give you a decent tax credit for those expenses.
You snooze, you lose. Just now at Rexall, I spied Wonder Bread for sale for .97 cents. I walk around the store planning to scoop some up on my way out and use my $1 coupons. I get to the cash and a lady bought all the marked down loaves. No free bread for me. Wah!
My heel has been acting up for a few days(think it's either plantar facsciitisor or heel spurs, it happens every couple of months) and I stupidly thought taking the kids to the farmer's market today and walking around for two hours was a good idea. Now I can barely put any weight on my foot, have shooting pain up my calf, my toes are killing me from walking on them and my oldest is grumpy because I can't take them anywhere that involves me doing a lot of walking today.
Spent $20 on items [Torani syrup, coconut oil, and concealer] that my dad had thrown! Really did not want him to pay for this! Some sort of karma must be after me! Me bad, very bad! At least I used my $5 Almay coupon so get the concealer for 3$ only.
Wow frugal. Same thing happened when I sold DDs crib. The woman showed up making rude comments and was $50 short if I remember correctly. So now every time I mention final price before any pick ups.
Went camping. Have massive heat rash from swimming and arthritis in my legs from sleeping outside in 8 degree weather. Plus i barely slept due to animals fighting and/or mating all night. I'll stick to a cottage next time.
