I wonder if it's closing? There are so few card/stationery shops nowadays. They have all closed in my area.

They've been clearing out after holidays for a couple of years now... in the last few months, there has been a lot more general card clearance, though -- some being brought in from other places. Could be that they're changing their lines.
Right now, there's a lot of clearance of father's day and mother's day cards. July usually brings a lot of general clearance at Carlton cards.

Yeah, I'd say it was mainly fathers day, mothers day and valentines.... But the fathers day and mothers day were good to stock up on...because it was all the types of cards for grandparents, moms and dads, ou know..cute ones from grand kids to grandparents uncles and all that not just straight up moms and dds from the kids...so I got a few of each for next year so I don't BLOW $5 a freakin card like I JUST DID for fathers day! (it sneaks up ome every Year, too many b-days at that time )

I know! I've been contemplating buying a bunch of general mother's and father's day cards, saving them for next year, and letting coworkers buy them from me for $0.40 to $0.50 each...a lot of people don't see the value in stocking up "so far in advance", but getting them just in time would make the cards a great deal. It would help them, and while my intention wouldn't be to make money, having them pay a little more than $0.10 would allow me to recover my costs, especially if I had leftover cards that nobody wanted! A lot of families have to buy at least 3 cards, which gets expensive!

St Vital location had a whole section of 10cards/$1 but all were mothers day and fathers day but I still bought a fistful and then moved on to check their 75% off xmas card sets and found my moms favourite brand papyrus which is usually very expensive xmas ornaments were not to my taste so we skipped those but found a bunch of webkinz small stuffies for $4 off making them $1.99 which will work for my daughters loot bag for her bday in a few months other stuff on clearance too ...some frames, giftbags etc but we were in a hurry thanks op for the heads up
