that's the difference from living in the big city and SK lol
Ummm yeah. Last summer I had a molar removed. They told me it was $150 for basic extraction. I thought okay no biggie.
The tooth was stubborn and they had to drill a teeny piece off.
Well when I went to pay they told me total cost was $390.....
I nearly had a heart attack....
I was glad I had enough money in my chequing account to cover that. Lol.

I had two wisdom teeth removed while living in South Korea. Cost per tooth ... $25 equivalent.
I had a molar extracted last week for $45.
WHAT?? Im a dental hygienist and office manager/treatment coordinator in an Ontario dental office and WOW, that is a total rip off for an exam, xray and extraction! They are definitely NOT billing on the Ontario Fee guide...fraud!
I had a tooth extracted last year, paid only $125 for exam, x-ray and extraction. This basic extraction cost.
A tooth extraction should only cost about $100
The fees charged by dental offices should be based on the 2013 Ontario Fee Guide.
Specific Exam: $37-$127 (a range...up to DDS to charge what he wants...usually $60)
Xray: $26 (DDS canNOT extract a tooth without an X-ray)
Simple Extraction: $132 (simple means the tooth is erupted, not under the gums)
Complicated Extraction: $208 (if the DDS needs to cut into the gums to section the tooth to remove)
So one tooth pulled can cost $195-$361.
