    Hey there
So I had an unfortunate accident with my phone. I got kicked into a bowl of cereal a week and a half after I got it fixeed for water damage. I didn't want to pay the 90 dollars I was quoted to get it fixed (with no guarantees of it being fixable) so I decided to take on some phone surgery.
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with fixing corroded charging ports. My phone is a first generation Galaxy Captivate SGH i897 and the port is soldered in. It's not possible to find a replacement motherboard, and I don't have the tools required to remove and replace the battery port.
So I've tried cleaning out all the dried up milk with 99% Isopropyl alcohol, q tips and a toothbrush. Everything seems clean apart from two spots on my phone. when I put everything back together, my phone would not charge. I've been researching what else I can use to clean it and electric contact cleaner is the next thing I want to try.
Does anyone know which places sell them and which brand to buy?
I'd prefer not spending too much on it, considering I've already blown my phone repair budget on getting it fixed once, isopropyl alcohol, a screwdriver set and a can of compressed gas.
Please help. I need this phone to work. I can't live with the current phone I have ( a total brick), don't have the outrageous amount of money needed for a new phone and I am determined to bring my phone back to life.
    heeelllpppp!!

    Thanks

The Source has a pretty decent contact cleaner spray for $9.99.

    Item #4408726

I'm not 100% if it will cure your problem, but it's a good next-step and the contact cleaner certainly won't do any harm.
