I am confused as there should be no tax on cereal...at least there is no tax on the receipt on front of me.
I got a SCOP at SDM for Vitamin D Tablets as they should have been $7.49 rather than the $10.99 they rang in at. I still managed to get the 18,500 bonus points as I was still just above the $50.00.

This is a picture of the receipt from the cereal transaction. This was what the people at the Customer service desk told me, since they do not control the taxes, the government is the one who has put it there. Now I know at least if I can dispute them on tax or not.
Maybe they are classifying it as a snack item as there was no tax on my Mini Wheats. You should not be paying tax on FPC's which I am assuming they were. If you definitely want to avoid paying tax on FPC's head over to SDM and they will ring it in with coupon code 2002.
Cereal is non-taxable but granola bars are and cereal bars aren't...is granola taxable like granola bars?
ON tshirt 3.99 for DS.

The sneaky government does not tax cereal but they do tax granola.http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/gm/4-...#_Toc155586128Quote:
Snack mixtures
Sch. VI, Part III,
para 1(i)
66. Supplies of snack mixtures that contain cereals, nuts, seeds, dried fruit or any other edible product, but not including any mixture that is sold primarily as a breakfast cereal, are taxable.
67. Snack mixtures usually have the following characteristics:
- Consumers commonly view them as snacks.
- Their ingredients are ready to eat; no further processing is required.
- The ingredients have been combined before the product is sold.
- The main ingredients remain separate and distinct from each other and are not bound into one whole.
- The main ingredients are often coated with a savoury seasoning such as salt or barbecue flavouring.
- They are eaten by the handful or as individual bite-sized pieces without utensils.
- They are usually sold in pouch packs or bags, from bulk bins or in clear plastic containers.
68. Mixtures that are excluded from zero-rating by paragraph 1(i) include:
- a mixture of two or more of the classes or categories of the items identified in paragraph 1(i) (i.e., nuts and seeds, nuts and dried fruit, cereal and dried fruit, etc.); or
- a mixture of two or more varieties within each class or category (i.e., two or more types of dried fruit, or two or more types of nuts, etc.).
No Frills has raspberries on sale for $1.50 this week.
I bought:
10 packages raspberries x $1.50 - 10 x $1.00 Driscoll's coupons = $5.00 total (or $ .50 each)
I just completed 10 x Driscoll's surveys, with the PINs from the 10 packages, and now have another 10 x $1.00 coupons to use! :)
