Sometimes those coupons you don't think you'll ever use come in handy.
On the back of Cheerios cereal boxes, there were 4 coupons for different General Mills/Yoplait products. One of them was $1.00 on General Mills Fibre 1 Cheesecake Bars or Nature Valley Peanut Butter Biscuits or Nature Valley Breakfast Bars. I had 21 of these coupons and they expire at the end of November. I almost tossed them at last week, thinking I would never use them.
Like many others, I had a number of bonus General Mills offers from PC Plus this week. One of them was 1,500 points WUB Fibre 1 Cheesecake Bars. Another offer was 1,500 points WUB either Nature Valley Peanut Butter Biscuits or Chocolate/Banana Breakfast Bars.
So, I took my 21 coupons to RCSS (ON) and bought a combination of the Fibre 1 Cheesecake Bars and Nature Valley Peanut Butter Biscuits.
21 x $2.98 - 21 x $1.00 coupons = $41.58 (or $1.98 per box)
I earned:
21 x 1,500 pts = 31,500 pts = $31.50 value
and, to my surprise, there was an in-store pts offer on each box for 750 pts, so I also earned:
21 x 750 pts = 15,750 pts = $15.75 value
My final cost was:
$41.58 (cost of bars after coupons) - $31.50 (digital points offer) - $15.75 (in-store points offer) = $5.67 overage
and, since there is tax on these bars, the $5.67 overage covered most of the tax :smartass:
Thank you, PC Plus and General Mills for 21 practically FREE boxes of bars and biscuits!
I just happen to be going by the "whole chicken" bunker when the meat guy was loading it up with $.99 / lb whole chicken!! (short best before date). Picked up 3 X 3 packs (9) whole chickens for about $30.00. We'll have 3 tomorrow for dinner and the other 6 another time. Thank goodness for big freezers!!
I asked the meat guy if he had marked anything else down and he said that he had just marked down some inside rounds of beef to $6.59 / kg I picked up a couple packs for some future crock pot beef stroganoff dinners!! :P
(RCSS Mississauga)
At rcss yesterday I got a crockpot. $19.94 - 4000 PC points and no tax so $15. Treated myself to beef tenderloin $50 - 10000 points works out to $40 for huge hunk of tenderloin. Will portion out and vacuum seal and freeze to have a treat here and there.
I did not buy anytime for Black Friday. My bro took me to Sephora. I don't wear makeup so I refused to buy anything from there. Off to London Drugs and they had Lancaster for $2. I used $1 coupon and got four of them for $1. Also bought two Scrubbing Bubbles for 2.49 each and used peelie coupon for $1 2x.
I have had my eye on the Instant Pot 7 in 1 for months now. Put it in my Christmas list (pleased I did, my crock pot died last week). The regular price is $235- ish depending on where you shop. On Tuesday Amazon.ca had it for $145 a huge reduction, so DH ordered it for one of my Christmas gifts. Murphy's Law, yesterday Amazon.ca had it reduced to $84.99 basically another $60 off.
We couldn't cancel the order and re-buy as it had been shipped. Amazon.ca can't price adjust anymore because the software they use stopped them doing it. So what they are doing for us is when the first one we bought arrives, we are returning it at their expense and we are keeping the one we bought at $84.99.
This is why I love Amazon and do a lot of shopping with them - we get such good customer service. I had a Garmin Forerunner GPS watch battery die after I'd had it 6 months (after the 30 days you are suppose to contact the manufacturer). They sent me a replacement before I had even sent the broken one back and dealt with the manufacturer themselves. This is why I love them so much!!

My friend and I each bought that instant pot on Friday, she new it was going to be on sale. I've never had one, but I know some people are obsessed with theirs.

i intended to use another $2 coupon but the balance was only $1.30 so i couldn't. i regret not grabbing a bag of chips or something.
even though i've been collecting points for years now, this is my first big redemption. i spent a lot of time making a list and organizing my shop, clearly i didn't think far enough with the coupon situation/negative balance. nonetheless it's still a great shop! felt amazing to only pay $1.30 for a cart full of stuff.
I stopped at our local CO-OP grocery store on Wednesday to put up a poster. While there, I took advantage of their app. I was able to get a little bottle of the new Coke and a box of granola bars for free = $5.22 before the app FPCs were applied. Dh and I both didn't like that green bottle of Coke.
