At Food Basics (last day of sale is tomorrow):
4 x Quaker Quick Oats 1kg bag @ $1.98 each = $7.92
used coupon for "buy 4 Quaker products, get a FREE Pearl Milling product" - I chose Buttermilk Pancake Mix (priced at $3.49)
The cashier commented on what a good deal this was with 4 x 1kg Quaker Oats and 1 x Pancake Mix for a total of $7.98! I did a couple of transactions since these products are both very welcome at my local food bank. (The coupon states "one per customer" but the cashier very kindly allowed me to do separate transactions, using one coupon per transaction.)

Another Flashfood deal, at Loblaws this time: 2x 3kg dinner hams for $5 each, plus a 1.6 kg cottage roll for $8. This was enough to get me to make a special trip. And then, when I took a quick look around, an in-store special on pork side ribs at $2.18 per kg, a price I haven't seen in maybe 3 years, not even at the nearby oriental groceries. I got 2 packages of 2 slabs each for $22.16 and since I had a pork personal offer, earned 4400 points as well. I'd have bought more, but that's all our freezer can hold atm.

My No Frills has the Cottonelle Flushable Wipes 336 counts box (8 x 42 count packages per box) on sale for $3.74, the sign said I was saving $9.25/box.
I grabbed 6 boxes as that is cheaper than buying them from Costco.

Johnson baby wash 400ml assorted type & scent $4.39 @ RCSS. There was $1 peelie coupon on the bottle. Just in time for me as we needed more baby shampoo and bubble bath. So I bought 2 bottle and used the peelie coupons.
17x 200g Ritz cracker boxes for $0.94 each at Freshco
Saw a whole rack of 1kg packages of Smarties, but they had no price shown. So, I brought one up to check and it rang up at $11; then I noticed that the Best Before date was 22-12-06, one month earlier.
I told the cashier and asked if that meant they had to throw them out. She said that would be the case.
I asked if I could have it, since they were going to toss it. She told me that it was okay, but that they needed the box.
I said that it would be no problem for me to empty the contents into a bag. I went back and got 5kg worth of Smarties. What a shame the rest would get dumped.
Now, what the heck am I going to do with a pantry full with 11 pounds of Smarties?! :)
@HermanH send them to my house :-)

Nice deal on avocados. I love them too but I find the ones from regular grocery stores like RCSS, NF and WM are often bad on the inside when I cut them open to the point I only buy them from Costco now - each one is perfectly ripen every time. Is there a trick to selecting avocados? I know if they are soft to the touch then they are either ripe in the store or bruised, so I would only buy firm ones.
Food Basics
2 x Cavendish frozen fries 3.96 - 4.00 (coupons from the Royale mail out) = .04 off of other grocery items
@Purdee I don’t know any trick. When I buy them I make sure the are firm and I just leave then out to ripe . Most of the time the are good.
The bananas in a paper bag trick has never failed for me. Put the avocados and a couple of bananas in the bag, and fold to close. Two to three days is usually long enough depending how hard the avocados were at the start. Also works for peaches, pears, tomatoes, etc.
Loblaws
51 x NoName Tomato Paste 30.09 (.59 each) - 6.00 (6000 points for 30.00 on noname products) = 24.09 or 48 cents each
