I thought my best deal this week was going to be the Raisin Bran cereal I got for free at SDM (on sale for $1.99 and had personalized coupon for $2 off any cereal).

But today I went to YIG and found one last lonely Maple Leaf Prime whole chicken. They were on sale for $1.99/lb this week. Well, that one had a price tag of $3.12. And it weighed 1.432 kg. It was reduced to $0.99/lb, but didn't have a pink sticker, just a new price label. Best before date is tomorrow. Put the chicken in the freezer when I got home, after opening bag to make sure it was good, which it is. The only bad thing is that with my excitement at the price of the chicken, I forgot to use my $0.50 any Maple Leaf product coupon.

It's the first time I see meat at YIG reduced by 50%. It's usually 30% there, and at RCSS too.

    Diapers...

    1. SDM - 28pk of Sz 4 Pampers, regular 14.99, on for 10.99, combined with personalized coupon for $8 off = $2.99.
    2. Giant Tiger - A coupon blogger in the next town over posted about Giant Tiger selling 92pk Sz 4 Pampers for $14.99 regular price. Amazing deal in and of itself. I went to get them at my GT store, and they rang in at $29.99.... shelf sticker also said $29.99. So I second guessed myself, thought I'd read the blog wrong and left the store. Later I called the store wher the blogger bought hers to confirm, and they confirmed $14.99. Called my store, and after looking through their computer system, they acknowledged they had them downloaded at an incorrect price of $29.99, and they really were supposed to be $14.99. I asked if SCOP would apply, and they said no because BOTH shelf price and scanned price were wrong. SCOP would only apply if they only screwed up once and shelf sticker was right and scan was wrong. Quite the loophole... so if every second store in a chain overprices their products by mistake, they will never have to answer to it as long as shelf sticker and scanned price are both equally incorrect? I mean, come on... anyway, in the end, they agreed to honor SCOP 'just this once' ... and I got a 92pk of Pampers for $4.99. I was a huge embarassing battle though, because both of the male managers I dealt with pretty much made me feel like a criminal, but whatever. They had a significant error in their system, they need to own up to it and do the right thing.

Glad you got it but scop would only apply if it scanned at a different price. I would have been happy with the "price match" price but good for you for stsnding your ground the back and forth alone was worth the $10 saved/spent in gas money

It was not a 'price match' price. It was a complete error in their system on two levels. They were not price matching, they were correcting their own error to bring to the 14.99, which they confirmed as the correct regular price for the diapers.

I realize the justification for why SCOP didn't apply, but it really isn't in good faith on their end to say, 'Sorry, we priced our products wrong both on the shelf AND in the system, so thankfully, since we made two mistakes, SCOP doesn't apply.' I mean really, this one was beyond SCOP - their whole system and stickering was incorrect, and not for a few dollars, but twice the price!

What do you mean gas savings?

I just picked up my free chocolate bar from the 7-Eleven app. Next to my vehicle I found $0.90 in change on the ground.
