I had Bell and Rogers internet before and they overcharged for everything and their customer service is horrible. I switched to Teksavvy, they are available where I live. It is much cheaper with them and I have not had problems with my service. I would recommend them.

Check out Standard Broadband. I hear they're alright. Only issue is if they are available in your area.

We are with Telus - and when we first joined them -they were really cooperative - providing discounts when we had issues etc. We don't have that much problem with them - but unfortunately, the more devices you use - the more you tend to depend on the service. We have been having a problem with the wireless over the past few months - but a techie came out the other day and made a few changes - including a new router. Still have problems with streaming through the TV apps - but otherwise - we are reasonably happy with it. Just checked the Teksavvy site - and their rates are quite a bit higher than what we are paying.

Stay away from Acanac. I used them for many years. Their customer service is terrible. And it's so so difficult to cancel it. Totally a pain!!!

Wow, I wish I had these choices. I am rural and after a horrible numbers of years with a satellite system (overpriced) and hit and miss slower than dial up service, Rogers wireless systems were added to my area. I do not have a 'cap', I just pay based on use-- no such thing as unlimited. I would love to see some of these options available in my area. I only live 45 minutes from the nation's capital, but we are still in the dark ages when it comes to Internet!

Get a quote from one of the others and then if it gives unlimited bandwidth, phone Bell and ask to speak to a customer retention specialist and tell them your quote or at least the unlimited bandwidth and the odds are they will give you what you want. If it doesn't work with the first specialist call back about 10 hours later and ask another specialist.

    Some thoughts....
    • Go compare Rogers rates vs the competition.
    • Do you plan to "bundle" your services?

    • Rogers cable broadband may be fastest, but may/will lose speed in the evenings during peak neighborhood usage. Unlike ADSL, you are SHARING that bandwidth.
    • Some say because the connection is shared with the neighborhood, you might be more vulnerable to attacks.
    • use this site to regularly assess your cable internet speeds at different hours of the day.

You can earn $50 when you open your first Tangerine Account and $120 more when you switch your pay to Tangerine.

I've had Primus for years and love them. It is pricey though about $55 a month. I wish it was cheaper but there are no caps which is lovely and you can get some Airmiles with them too for every $15 you spend. I believe I get about 3 Airmiles each month. Which isn't much but better than nothing at all.
