We have mostly hardwood floors, and I'm looking for a replacement for the broom!

We had a Roomba, loved it at first, but I'm disappointed with it now. It no longer holds a charge, it's mostly a paperweight now and we paid a LOT of money for that thing! This is apparently a common Roomba problem, I will not buy another. We don't own furry pets, only a bird, the problem is just the dust bunnies. I like to walk around barefoot, and having stuff stick to my feet is icky.

Does anyone have a good solution?
