So I thought I'd give a few tips about price matching at Canadian Tire:
1. Go to the Customer Service desk - the process of PMing is more involved than other stores, so I doubt a regular cashier can do it.
2. Be prepared to wait. If the CSR needs to verify the price and stock, you may be waiting a while. When we PMed our Actifry, we were probably there 20 minutes (mind you the people that were working weren't quite sure how to do it either). When we PMed the Dyson, we were still there about 10 minutes.
3. You can PM shelf price, not just flyers! When we PMed our Actifry, we did it to Walmart's shelf price. Which brings me to....
4. You or may not need to provide proof before they'll PM. The first CT we went to for our Actifry told us we needed either a print out from the Walmart website stating the price, or a picture of the shelf price. They didn't have any Actifry in stock anyways, so we called a different CT - they did not require proof, as they HAVE to call the store and verify the price and stock.
When I PMed the Dyson, I didn't have a flyer, I just printed a black & white copy from the Target flyer online. The CSR checked the website flyer while we waited, to verify the price.
5. You get 10% back of the lower price - NOT 10% of the difference!

Thank-you, LuckBeALady! I always forget about good old CT price-matching! Isn't there another place that will give you the price + 10% too? My memory is clogged but I'm thinking....there is.

Future Shop and Best Buy do 10% the difference, so it's only worthwhile if there is a major difference in the prices. That could be what you're thinking.

Yeah, that's the one thing - they won't price match if the store is out of stock. I was a little surprised they didn't call Target to verify stock, but it was also the first thing Friday morning that we went.
