    I don't think I can free hand paint it but I could buy wood and paint it (like a thin piece about 12-18 inches wide) and have DH put it up (they way you put trim up).

    Perfect!!! You all rock!!! This is why I ask you amazing ladies!

    Couldn't you use painters tape? and a level Though if you use magnetic paint you might not want to put it directly on the walls, could be interesting if you ever want to paint over it or something though.

    I'm just worried how the 2 paints will look together - like the top blue portion and then the black road part. I'm not very good at painting and I'm afraid it'll run into each other or just not look that straight/even. And you're right about putting the magnetic paint right on the wall! Didn't think of that!

    I'll talk to DH and see what he thinks but I'm learning toward a wood strip along the wall. That way if he puts dents in it, we can always just take it off.
