I would also talk to your insurance company and see if you can claim this under vandalism. When my neighbour's kid damaged my car I went through my insurance (car insurance) which recouped from my neighbours home owner's insurance

I feel your pain. We had some exhaust tar fume specks on our brand new white car. The little tiny dark specks would not come off. The dealership couldn't help us so we took it to an auto detailer. They used a clay bar and looks brand new again. No one would give us any details of the truck that caused the damage, however a new house is being constructed right beside us and I am 100% positive that one of the construction vehicles caused it. Not sure if you know but to save yourself some money in the future (I have a white car as well) there are clay bar kits that you can buy at Canadian tire, it's super easy to do (just very time consuming) I usually use Mothers California Gold Clay Bar.
I know detail shops charge a lot for the service

We were able to get most of it off. I have a killer migraine so I can't get the rest of it off until this migraine is gone, claying it seems to remove the rest of the residue.
Management has talked with the person and I have gotten reimbursed for costs so far. The fire marshall had also gotten involved and had given both management and the neighbor a warning.
I may take it to the auto detailer again to see if maybe they can do an extra polishing that may remove it. The problem is that there are little white spots near the trim etc in areas where the buffer wouldn't be able to get at, but that I can get at with clay. My dad has a scraper tool to get the tiny spots off the windshield glass.
I think the whole insident is why I have had a migraine for the last three days.

When we got the car back from the detailers my husband noticed some spots they had missed. The next day I went back and showed them and they used a spray and micro fiber cloth to remove the rest.
How awful. Hope your headache clears up soon.
