I just read about a fake Christie's Cookies coupon on another site, and thought I would share the info.
The fake coupon is a pdf printable, for $2 off any Christie's cookies, exp. Dec 31, 2013. The coupon is fake, so if you get one in a train or a trade, be aware.
I hate fake coupons. They just make things more difficult for legit couponning, by making companies and retaillers more wary of coupons.
I personally like printable coupons, I find them really convienient, but if fake printables get circulated a lot, I think it will just make companies more hesitant to issue printables.
I also hate that some people have no problem with ripping off retailers by creating and/or using a fake coupon. If a retailer accepts a fake coupon, the retailer will not be reimbursed for it, so he is out money. And we are just finally getting retailers in Canada to be more comfortable with accepting printable coupons. This kind of stuff can really set legit couponing back. This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by super807; Wed, Sep 18th, 2013 at 08:18 AM. Reason: typos

I have not seen even a normal christie coupon for more than $1. (short of a coupon coming straight from christie for a free pack of cookies) A $2 pdf should be suspicious to start with. Thanks for the heads up.

I only like printable coupon when I can't wait for it from mail. BTW, $2 value is too high for printable coupon for Christie. Will take extra caution.!

In general, i question any PDF printable coupon. the only ones i print are from Smart Source, save.ca, websaver or if it offered directly from the manufacturer.

Yes, me too. I have seen some high value PDFs that are legit, but they are usually available directly on the manufacturer's website, or the link from the manufacturer's facebook page.
The retailer is the one that really gets the short end of the stick with these types of situations. The retailer doesn't know the origin of the coupon, and there are legit pdf coupons. There was the $2 Green Works coupon in the spring that was available on the Clorox website for a long time, as an example, and I got free Greeen Works with those when they were on sale at SDM for $1.99. I would hate to see retailers stop accepting printables or make it more difficult to use them because they get stuck footing the bill too often.

Pic was removed by mods who are worried about a small water mark promoting another site ~ sorry can't find another one to upload.

It says not valid for redemption in stores or pharmacies in QC, that a restrictive wording on meds here, not on cookies.
