Found out that Rogers customers, many of them in major Ontario communities, had a time trying to figure out why email worked on phone/laptop but not home e-mail or vice versa yesterday. As of yesterday, the new email security settings took effect.
Someone I know who has Rogers mentioned that Yahoo Support had sent out an email this week about the changes and not everyone trusted it as legitimate and treated it as spam.

So if you are with Rogers, check that you have updated your home computer's Outlook or whatever email program you have. Check your phone/laptop as well for e-mail settings.

I understand one smartphone company sent out a security update as well yesterday for its own software issues.
