    Hi Everyone!!!

*NOTE BEFORE READING* Long post and I am jotting down what comes to my mind (tired from work to organize right now)... [if lazy to read, please answer the questions in title] [TWO location in my mind is Las Vegas and Edmonton ]

MODS - PLEASE DON'T MOVE THIS POST]

So ....... I've decided to go on a trip, vacation or something I am thinking 4 days 3 nights sort of thing. Either first or second week of November. I am going to stay within North America for now and will try a different continent next time of travel.

I was wondering, is traveling alone going to be weird? Also, is it trouble going through boarder if fly between Canada/US alone? I don't want to be asked odd questions of why am I such a loner or something lol. My friends/relatives are busy and want to make extra $$ for the holiday coming up. Some has family, where their wife won't let them go ... or they are on hourly pay jobs and not want to lose a few days of work. So that's why I am on my own.

I've personally get "bored" after a few days of going to the city/state/province etc. and maybe surrounding cities. I know going to a new places, there are tons and tons out there to do but majority of us [maybe just me] go to the main attractions and enjoy everything else on the free time. I think also mostly shopping LOL

I am not yet to decide which week to go to but if I am only going for 4 days, I am taking off a full week. I am thinking of leaving Tuesday morning and come back Friday afternoon/evening.

So far I have 2 places in mind to travel ....

    - Edmonton [maybe i go for 1 week if I do also want to drive to Calgary and back]

    OR

    - Las Vegas, Nevada

    Any where would you recommend?

    Thanks,
    WIN-STAR

Yikes winstar! I cannot believe you would even think that the airport people would call you a loner, they don't care why you are traveling alone, it is a vacation that is all they need to know.
As far as driving somewhere, why not fly instead and get more vacation time spent sightseeing, shopping etc, instead of driving the time away?

I have never been to Las Vegas, so cannot advise. but Edmonton is ok , as long as you go before the snow flies!! Have fun wherever you decide to relax, you earned a break after plugging away non stop for a while now.

Could get married at one of those cutesy chapels then you wouldn`t have to worry about coming back alone!

Hmm edmonton and calgary... the snow could fly here any time... i am in calgary.

vegas on the other hand has strippers and casinos. It really just depends on what your idea of fun is. For me casinos and strippers are not my thing.... but either is the cold. I am not sure what to tell you on this one except have a blast where ever you go!

NO! There are many many people travelling alone for various reasons. No one is going to point fingers at you, let alone be aware that you are travelling solo. They are also more worried about themselves and how they look than to give a damn about strangers they haven't met. Besides, if they do, who gives a flying f**k about what they think.

Also, is it trouble going through boarder if fly between Canada/US alone? I don't want to be asked odd questions of why am I such a loner or something lol.
I travel alone quite a bit. The most I've been asked regarding travelling solo is "is anyone travelling with you?" "No." End of topic.

When I was single I loved traveling alone.....I still like going out for dinner alone even a movie alone when I have the chance... A girlfriend of mine LOVES going to Vegas alone...shopping, lounging by a pool, taking in some shows, checking out the sights, hot guys being included in the sights... I'd choose Vegas....wherever you go...have a great time

Nothing wrong with going travelling alone.

I go alone anywhere I can as often as I can. I love the quiet and can enjoy my travels much more without others around.

Cannot wait for my next trip. Coming real soon.....REAL soon, but I will be going overseas I think.

I love Vegas, so much to do there and the shopping is awesome. Make sure you visit Freemont Street experience one night. There are a ton of free attractions and some great shows. Make sure you visit some Vegas premium outlets, tons of designer stores with awesome prices.

    Not weird at all
I went to Paris alone last year, and that's the city of love.. imagine I went just to visit the main attractions I hadn't seen the first time, shop, fine dining(i'm talking 220euros lunch ((once)) hahah) read and enjoy café crèmes.. that's it , that's all.. managed to spend about 2000$ over there doing JUST that lol .It's also not weird at all crossing the border alone, I drove my mom to the airport in Plattsburg so I was in and out within a couple hours and the customs dude couldn't care less. Provided you're not taking drugs, prostitutes or orphans accross you should be good !

I don't know what destination would be best though, never been to either. However like Cheekysaver said, depends on your idea of fun because I don't think strippers and casino's is fun either .. But in the states there's plenty to do so i'm sure you'll find something to your liking.

If you're travelling alone and want to meet people, stay at hostels! Generally cheaper than hotels and you meet all sorts of people!

I stayed in hostels a few times in Seoul (maybe an hour from where we lived...but...laziness) and it was awesome waking up and talking to the people there! I met some guys from France (both travelling alone) one morning.

Great choice !! not just cause I live here but it's a great place to stay a couple days! Especially alone !

If you do go to the states it's always much cheaper to drive just across the border then fly from there. My parents to this to go to their condo in Florida , I drive them to plattsburg ten they fly with spirit usually for under 100$

I thought the customs thinking i am a "loner" cuz I would hate them asking me a whole different question on why am I traveling alone and stuff like that.

So I am going to guess I'll pick vegas!!! I am going to look to get a package deal with flight and hotel. Car rental I'll find out when I get there as I heard the traffic is very terrible.

Strippers and Casino I can find here so nothing special. I'll try the casino for sure ... I enjoy casino but not addicted to it ... Iusually play $5 - $10 to try my luck then leave LOL

Not so interested in strippers ... I'll save that moments when I get married because I can get that kind of actions anytime for free LOL .... you did not hear it from me

Shopping Mall is a must for me but only need a few hours ... I'll buy new cloths in the states always to update my wardrobe haha
