As background...for the past few months we've been noticing a really weird phenomenon in our area. Entire coupon pads are being ripped off the shelf (hardware destroyed) in a matter of hours after being put up. I understand this isn't a new thing for most people but we had a pretty good group here in town who were at least not taking them all (just what they needed) for the past few years.

The weird thing is that it's only the non-perishables....like Clear, Dove and Lysol. After looking at the empty pads I think these people are taking approximately 100-300 coupons.

WTF some people are crazy! Why would any one buy stuff from this girl if they could get it cheaper or at the same cost couponing themselves lol. Sorry to hear people are that selfish :(

I've been thinking of what I'm going to say on their FB page...non-confrontational ideas are:

"Are you allowed to sell stuff on FB"
"How are the taxes paid...doesn't the governement want tax for the resell of these items"

From what I heard about what happened at SW it was a HUGE confrontation and the girl(s) there were verballly abusive.

Yup. Good idea to let P& G know what's goin on.

Actually, I had a few extra minutes to think..... Maybe P&G's reaction would be to shut down the group since their articles are clearly not for resale.... but there's a chancec they may also choose to issue less coupons... and that would hurt more people. (Although frankly.... our household's p&g consumption has decreased a LOT with all the annoying restrictions/lesser values....and I'm slowly trying to convert my bounty wh*re to Sponge towels :cheesygrin:)

My only goal is to stop the rampant pillaging of coupons....just leave some for the rest of us! I don't plan on contacting any coupon-issuing company.

I'm still contemplating what to say on their FB page...and it's not going to be confrontational and it WILL use an alias...haha!

Ok....this is what happened...over the past couple of months the SW staff has been really "weird" about taking coupons and I was mystified as to their change in attitude so I finally asked and they said the store manager had changed the coupon policy. So I phoned (because I just really want to use the coupons...and am more then willing to follow their rules...if I know what they are!) and spoke to the manager. It ended up being a long call (about 30 minutes) because at first she was really speaking strongly...like she was angry. Finally, after reiterating my LOVE of SW and just wanting to follow the new rules she started to come around.

She spoke about a couple of girls who were clearing the shelves and the coupons in her store regularly and so she asked that they preorder large amounts of product and apparently the "girls" went ballistic yelling at the cashier and the manager. She had to ask them to leave (and I think asked them to not come back). I'm not sure how she knew about the FB page and she wouldn't tell me who the girls were but it wasn't hard to figure out. The cashiers are feeling a little bitter about couponers so I went in and spoke to the couple I knew...just to let them know that not all couponers are crazy whacko nut jobs (and most of us are awesome...donating loads of stuff to support local community efforts).

It's pretty awful that staff people have to put up with that kind of harrassment IMO.

Wow! That's crazy! I know when I go into my local store because I have such a large family i will generally grab 10 of a coupon for my personal use on the day that I find the tearpads..if they are there the next day then I will grab a couple more for trading purposes or for friends I have that live out of town and I know will use them. But to clear out an entire coupon pad! That's insane!

PS if you need some Dove TP's I have a few for ya Jezz! Let me know how many you need? I might be able to help out. I pretty well have my dove stacks built and all for my stockpile to get me through till next december ( What I did last year, and just running out of Dove now LOL )

I am so oblivious to the dark side of the coupons side, I just learned maybe 5 months ago that they were sold on ebay and some arrangements are made with the reps and just yuck!!!! Now this..(yuk)..I don't know what is going on in the world?
