Just got back from looking at a duplex to rent - as some of you know, we have to move by the end of the month because our place has been sold.
Anyhow, it's a lot smaller than what we have now, but it fits our budget and has lots of new stuff done to it - and the woman showing it to us asks if we want to fill out an application. I said, well I can just write you a check and take it right now... She said, wow, she's never had someone want to do that before.
No, we have to apply, they are showing it for a few evenings, then make reference calls, then decide who they want to rent.
Crazy business, this being in a city where rentals (of any kind) are so tight...

Our goal is to not get in an apartment, if at all possible. So far, all there have been available other than them are basement suites - which I'm not against, it's just nicer to be in a more self-contained place.

Well, I'm off to see if there have been any new rental postings this evening...

My son, who is 21, doesn't either. It's odd, because he did as a child - and loved it. Then it just hit a point where he just couldn't - not just mine, but at family events, functions. He's not a picky eater at all, either.

Fiance and I usually go to my parents place up north for Thanksgiving, but this year we have a wedding on Sunday Oct 13 so we have to stay here.

I was such a picky eater as a child.
I only ate Italian buns (hard and took forever to eat).

So it's even more strange to know I don't like stuffing - bread!! haha
