We ran out of milk this morning for DD's cheerios (oh the horror ! ). Usually when I just need one or two things I tend to go to Metro since they have the points card, they're über close to my house and they generally have good deals and tearpads that are not empty. I didn't even look at the flyer before going and here's what I got.
3x Dole fruit parfaits: Sale 2.75$ - 1$ coupon = 1.75 each
Purina Kitten Chow: 8.39$ - FPC = FREE
Nivea for men face wash : Clearance 1.99 - 2$ coupon = FREE
Natrel PurFiltre 3 Pouch: 7.79$ - 5$ coupon = 2.79$
3x Lactancia butter - Sale 3.33$ - .75 coupon = 2.58 each
Gerber spoons : Clearance 2.29$ (no coupon but stocking up for baby coming in feb)
3x Orville Redenbacker popcorn: Sale 4.99 (no coupon either but they had the 20$ Hasbro coups which I will trade and DD was busting my a*$ to get them anyway -- I will keep a set of coupons and trade the rest )
Deal of the day ! --> Pampers diapers : Clearance 9.99 - Scanned at 21.99 - SCOP = FREE
I was going to use my 10$ off coupon and have them free, but since I scopped I get to keep my coupon ! YAY ! Was super happy since these are as rare as flying hobos
The cashier asked her supervisor what to do for the diapers to which she replies : Well just put them at sticker price.. (looking already annoyed). So I gently ()Informed her that as per the SCOP policy since the item is less than 10$ I should have it free. The cashier looked at the supervisor who said : fine just let her have them.. (looking even more annoyed). So I flashed my best smile and said a big thank you while she grumbled and filled out the papers for her scop stuff (i guess that's what that was.....). I don't even care if she was annoyed .. cause I got free diapers and kept my fabulous coupon .
I actually received the Dole coupons this morning in the mail as a RAOK from a mystery sender. There was no name on the envie or anything. So thank you coupon fairy !!! I'm going to hunt down my inbox to see if I know who sent them
It was a double points event at Metro which is a bonus .. (total of 163 points accumulated today)
AND found a crapload of coupons which is a double bonus

Hmmm.
I wonder if this Metro will become a Food Basics, like I posted in the summer?
