Pooh...HUGS. This is going to seem like heartless advice, but its your call to take it or leave it. As you know from our private talks, I was a piece of sh*t to MY parents (due to them treating me poorly), and Ive been on the other side with my son being an a&$hole to me and his sisters. I agree with your aunt. Clearly your DD is staying put. Fine. My experience is that 16 year old girls can (and will) be little biatches to their moms. Try not to take it personally. Either she will come home when she is ready or she won't. How long do you think this "other family" is going to put up with her?? Probably not forever. You have NOT lost her. The day she was born, you knew that eventually she would be moving out. This is obviously sooner than anticipated, but it WAS going to happen. Let her learn this lesson that life isn't always fun and roses, and she will appreciate you. Give her space. Stamping and crying and stressing yourself out is doing NOTHING to sway her back into your house. Its accomplishing nothing but making your DD think you are a mean, crazy witch....it will cause stress on your younger son having him see mom and dad so upset all the time, and he will come to blame his sister....its already affecting your health! Its hard, an seems impossible, but just breathe and let her go. In all likelihood, she WILL return, and THEN you can have the conversation about rules, respect etc. In the meantime, turn it around on her, be civil, but not accomodating, dont give her money, facebook her a deadline to come get her stuff, and give her a shot of reality, maybe just knowing that you arent being a crazy person about it, recognizing her need for independence, will soften her stubbornness just a little. And know that we are here for venting to!!

oh, and as for the extended family/dinner....screw them~ Its none of their business!! Chances are, they went through their OWN problems with their teenagers, but time will have softened their memories and they will most likely see their past struggles with rose coloured glasses, and be judgey on you. DOnt let them. Every kid/family/teen/circumstance is different. What was right for them, may not be right for you...but either way, its YOUR choice, and they would do best to not be involved.

Still nothing . His snoring and clonking teeth and whatnot don't bother me if I'm sleeping but if I have insomnia ... God help me ..

Ladies PLEASE, send some falling asleep tricks my way !!!
do you drink tea? there's some good sleepy teas...david's tea has one called "mother's little helper" which is quite good and is made specifically for mom's who need some sleep.
also, I have a light lavender spray that you can put on your sheets and pillow case and it helps.

Thanks DLEE! I don't sugar coat things. I like to be tactful, but I never lie. I have led a very full life, and really HAVE "been-there, done-that"....so I seem to have an opinion/advice/story for every situation! LMAO!! Others think I have "verbal diarrhea"!

Wrapping up my presents this afternoon because I finally have a day off.

So I got a hair cut this morning and I went short. My hair wasn't that long but it was shoulder length. It grows super fast and is thick so it was driving me nuts. I was second guessing my decision after I got it done and feeling all insecure about it and then I get in the car and my H looks at it and just makes a face. Now I am REALLY feeling bad about it.

PICTURES! PICTURES! PICTURES!! I have always had super long hair, but I secretly LOVE some of the cute, short cuts that I see. Sooo cute, and probably a lot less maintenance. Youve got bigger balls than me, Jody! LETS SEE!! (your haircut, NOT your balls!)

I am that 16 year old girl!!! My mom did the tough love thing and packed up a bunch of my stuff, told me if I wanted it to come and get it!

at the time I thought my mom was THE biggest biatch ever, but now our relationship is great!

I did end up going back, a long while later...but I still went back!

Not to toot my own horn, but I think I turned out pretty darn good lol

Hey! What if some of us want to see balls?!?! Ha ha!

I do want to see new hair though! I'm in need of a hair style change but I am far too lazy to do anything in the mornings!

Soooooo what is everyone doing today?? I checked Canada Post and my buddys package has arrived in her province, but delivery date still says friday.
I was at Sobeys yesterday and found single packs of Gillette Fusion ProGlide disposable mens razors for $2.99. I used the $3 off coupons and got 30 of them for a grand total of $101.36 but only paid the taxes of $11.36. Also SDM has Healthy Choice steamers for $1.99. Used 6x$2 coupons and 6 BOGOS and walked out with 12 for $0. ALSO at SDM...Vaseline hand creams on for $2.99, all different varieties. I wash my hands 25-30x a day, so get very dry skin. I used my last 5 $2 Vaseline coupons, combined with $3 Nivea coupons (used on $2 lip balms) gave me the overage to walk out only paying $1 for 5 lotions and 6 lip balms). It was an AWESOME couponing day!
    That is awesome!

I use my laptop and my phone as a hotspot at work too! Canada Post's wifi is protected and I wouldn't dare try to use it anyway!
