Separated for 4 years now, and it still is stinky. LIke Heather, I always seem to get the short end of the stick. I mean, it always seems to work out to his advantage. What has helped is that I choose not to make a deal of the 25th. I make a big stink out of the fact that because their parents live in two separate houses, Santa makes two trips for them. It takes the wind out of his sales, when I agree to what he wants for the most part for Christmas, because my ex always wants a fight with me. Also, I have sole custody, and he sees them EOW, if he utilizes it. So for the kids, I try to suck it up, so they can see him. Try to focus, on when you do have him, not so much the day. If it was me, let him have the day, and then do a second Christmas full out, before or after his time. It sucks, I get it. But, I've learned with my x, to pick my battles, because he will argue everything. We are currently heading back to court over a whole wop of BS that he initiated, because of this. Not sure if that helps. your little guy is 2 1/2, you have a long bit ahead, of dealing with the ex, and holidays are one thing I am willing to give on, as it is just the day, celebrate on another day
. My kids think they are pretty special, because Santa comes twice!
[QUOTE=cowgirlmama04;5702492]Ok buddy, I have some questions for you
What would you consider the "perfect date" or your most memorable?
No sig. other right now, still recovering from the last one, so no dates for me right now!

I have a wide variety of taste, country, classic, light opera (speaking of, good idea - cd of Phatom or Les miserables sound track), celtic thunder, neil diamond (cannot believe I am admitting that!), gospel, contempory christian, dance, etc... as long as it's not vulgar, I'm good!
What is your most favorite Christmas treat?
Lindt or toberolne chocolates1
What is one Christmas tradition that you must do or have?
What don't we do...Pretty much all of it...tree, stockings, decorations, family, food, reindoor and santa in the house (did you know they poop magic chocolate hershey kisses (my parents started that, we still do it with the santa cookies, milk and carrots for the reindeer), letter from santa , church, awesome christmas movies...etc
If you could pick only one flower, what is your favorite?
I have two, can't pick...lilacs, and gerber daisies
[QUOTE=julesie-pie;5702503]Buddy question: does your tree have a theme? Or colour-theme?
No theme, other then christmas, and lots of it. My tree is basically, ornaments with a bit of tree showing through!
Not a prude, but I don't like sex jokes or things like that

Exactly SHMEE, your DS will totally adapt and will love having two of everything!! We moms always tend to think our kids are missing out when the family is split, but kids are elastic and end up having twice the fun!
A few years back, my ex was being the douchiest of douches for the xmas season, and was pissing me (and his girls) off soooo badly. He was acting like they were small children and that it was all HIS holiday. (I am a super easy going mom 90% of the time, and my girls were 11 and 14 at the time, waaaaay beyond babying stage). They didnt want to do something, he was trying to force them yadda yadda long story...so basically, it was Dec.14th and we just up and spontaneously decided to open ALL our xmas gifts! Fack it! I was done shopping, everything was under the tree..Its JUST a day....not like they were waiting for Santa. Ex was a dick, thinkng that he was screwing me over for something but we ended up "taking the wind out of HIS sails" by having a fun spontaneous Xmas 2 weeks early!!its all about making memories, and my daughters still laugh and talk about it!
We are a unique family, sooo not traditional, we make our own rules. SHMEE, advice? Your ex is probably a dick too...dont let him get to you. If he thinks he is "winning" by having your 2 year old son with him on xmas> let him think that! Tell him you wll alternate xmas morning year to year. Honestly luv, your son is TWO. He wont remember a goddamn thing about this xmas!

Our tree is an unique collection of everything, cheap balls, sometimes popcorn strings, things the kids have made, neat ornaments we have found, some of my DM and DF, and even some of my grandparents old ornaments, I have some 60-70 yr old ornaments and some from Isreal that my granny brought back.
oh and since my old star broke, last year I used an edmonton Oilers Christmas hat as our tree topper.
I am definately not a prude when it comes to gag giftsin our house just about anything goes.

Just came back from shopping at SDM. I am not supposed to be out of bed yet but a girl needs to shop. There was not one thing on my buddy's wishlist that I could get from SDM. I did rock the points though. I did 75.00 on beauty stuff and bought a ton of stocking stuffers for the 4 teens on my life and got 18500 points. My personalized coupon this week was spend 75.00 on anything and get 18500 points so I used that to pick up some other Xmas stuff. 37000 points total!
