Wow, what great packages everyone :)
Venuila, is that your kitty in your avi? Every time I see it, it reminds me of my Oreo (passed away in June). My Oreo was more white than your kitty, but has a similar look.
Here he is:
Awww beautiful. Yes, that's my kitty in the pic, her name is Oreo too!
Your Oreo is very pretty. She looks really sweet. Although mine was a male, everyone seemed to think he was a girl. I think it's cause he was so darn fluffy.
A few years after I got him, I found a list of top 10 most popular cat names. My other cat's name was Shadow, which was #1 on the list, and Oreo was also on the list (just can't remember what number). When I named him, I thought I was being original .
Yeah, she's pretty sweet I guess, LoL! She's not NOT sweet but she's not very cuddly and stuff...only when I was pregnant did she come sit on my lap. Sometimes she comes and headbutts me when I am going to bed but for the most part she keeps to herself, lol. DS LOVES to chase her though and try and sit on her and stuff lmao...which she doesn't seem to mind  She doesn't even run away from him...they are both pretty gentle with each other so I guess they enjoy it, lol.
Ya, I thought I was being original also. I know of at least four people now with Oreos, hehe. When we got her we had her sister too, which we almost named Shadow but went with Midnight which is also probably up there on that list.
It came in a large shoe box that provided them with hours of entertainment last night (I am mean and took it off them because they were fighting over it this morning), it has an attached lid so Quincy was sitting in it and jumping up and smacking Izzy as she walked by... which she fell for every time.
I have read that head-butting is actually a sign of affection from a cat. So when she head-butts you, she is telling you she loves you. My Oreo did that all the time.
Although my Shadow was black, that's not why I named her that. She followed me everywhere. Always. Had her for 14 years and she really lived up to her name. She was my little shadow.
Another great package yesterday but not from this train. Thank goodness it's only 0C today, the trudge to the mailbox won't seem so chilly!

FB left for my buddy & the conductor :)
glad that you were able to get it! i have to say that i had a hard time staying within the guidelines of the train.......15 items was really tough to stick to.....LOL. the dish cloths are hand made but not by me. we got our buddies right before the huge annual craft sale in my town! had so much fun shopping for you and glad that you liked your package! all the recipes that i sent you are tried and favorites here in our house!
Red Thursday, I like it! We're hitting the city tomorrow to get my favourite package - Grandma :)
Not planning on any Black Friday shopping this year.
Last year we bought our fridge during Black Friday sales. This year, we took advantage of the Sears Black Friday Canadian Edition sale back in October to buy our new range and dishwasher. With the kitchen renos we have been doing, not looking to buy more stuff right now.
Am pretty much done my Christmas shopping - I need to buy some gift cards for my step-daughters to add to the other stuff have already bought for them. Dh needs to go get a few things for his two grandchildren (2 years and 2 months), so we can mail the big package off to his oldest daughter next week as we won't see her over the holidays. I finished my shopping for dh and for his son-in-law in early September, taking advantage of some of the big SDM redemptions, which is fabulous for the gift budget. :)
No shopping for me, I don't need more stuff and I have to work
Did Red Thursday shopping today at Canadian Tire. Got a Debbie Travis storage ottoman for $64 (reg $150) for our family room, folding chairs $6 (regular $10) and an Elmo play tent for DD $15 (reg $30).
Not the best of savings but these were items we were planning to get anyways ;)
Tomorrow we will try the Black Friday sales at Walmart, etc.
Great packages so far :)
can't believe how quiet this thread was all weekend. i kept logging in to see that nothing had changed....lol
Oh I thought all packages had arrived it was so quiet
still waiting on one - should be today thoooo!
A few people still need some posts to meet the requirements so let's get chattin ladies ;)
Does anyone have any good christmas cookie recipes they would recommend? DH doesn't like the sugar cookie type (I know, crazy right?) so am hoping for something a little different. :-)
Picking up my $210 Redemption on Sunday, I also had a chance to pick up my package from the Post Office! It's here, yay!
After opening the box, I was impressed with the meticulous wrapping job....

I will post the text of all the content soon!
Sorry for the delay, we have been having so much fun with Grandma > sewing, crafting and playing! And picking away at our large shopping pile from our City trip, we're a little behind on regular items.
He doesn't like sugar cookies (neither do I, so I get that), but does he like shortbread type cookies? One of my family's long-standing must-haves for Christmas cookies are walnut crescents, which are really a variation on a shortbread. Everyone loves these (except for dh, who is allergic to tree nuts).
If you want something totally different, I tried a new recipe last year that was a huge hit. They were Chocolate Turtle cookies, and they were fabulous :)
If either of these sound interesting to you, let me know and I will post recipes here.
Great ideas! Would love the recipes, thanks! :-)
