It has come to our attention that many people are using this section to post "deals" from shop.ca for referrals and that they are only really deals because you are combining them with GCs and ebates which would make anything a deal

• Any future discussions of shop.ca deals should be posted in this thread
• You may not link your shop.ca or ebates account other than in your signature and do not ask people to sign up under you
• Discussions on new GCs available can still be posted in freebies but you may not ask for people to sign up under you when doing so

Sorry to come down so hard on this, but people are finding it just spam at this point

I just received my order I placed Sunday night, a tri coloured jewellery set ($19.99). I've been looking for a set for awhile, and you can't beat free. I used my divine.ca card mailed to me, and the websaver one. I just paid $2.59 tax. Pretty sweet!!

I didn't really understand it at first but played with it over the weekend so I'll do a mini brag with basic instructions with what I've learned.


I signed up for an account. NO referral
I received notice of $25 for joining and $25 for paypal.

Investigating further I learned about referrals and referred a friend who bought some video games and we applied some coupon codes.
We both received $25

THEN I learned about ebates and others 20% rebates so I bought a steamer for $59.95. I double checked pricing and it was very good compared to Amazon, shopbot, etc
I FORGOT TO APPLY my $50 in "credits" so I paid full price less rebates etc. OOPS!
There is no easy way to cancel an order they ship very quickly and the "chat function" didn't work!

Oh well lesson learned!
Today I came across a deal for speakers that I wanted.

2 prices listed one at Shop.ca and one at the actual retailer
$138.50 at Shop.ca
$88.50 at Retailer website...

I crunched numbers... Shop.ca price, free shipping, 20% rebate Paypal 5% cashback, gift card codes (there are many) etc
Retailer: lower price, pay for shipping etc.
Overall, they were still $200 less than Amazon.com which makes it an awesome deal imho.

I referred my mother and had her buy one set of speakers, and I bought one from Shop.ca as well Out of pocket is about $50
President referral $10
Swiss Chalet $15
Code for free shipping and $10 off electronics
Referral credits $50
So about $75 off and 5% Paypal and 20% great Canadian Rebates
I bought another set of rear speakers from the retailer directly. I saved about $800!
eventually needed a spreadsheet!

Retailers price jumped from $88.00 to $138.00 200 minutes after I posted on another forum..... :O oops!

Caveats:
I was ONLY able to do this because of Smart Canucks! I've learned how to apply coupons, collect points, refer people, walk people through points, rebates, ebates, credits, bonus, discount codes and cashback. etc.

It's feels more complicated than it is BUT I was sweating like it was Cadbury Chocolate points day at Shoppers Drug Mart!
Shoppers Optimum has made me a basket case this year and my friends are afraid of me now. Although they all want "in" hahaha

So lessons learned:
Keep an eye on Shop.ca Prices are NOT always the best, but can be awesome. Fact check always!
These codes for credits expire fast.
This can't last forever but while it does love it for what it is!
Customer Service is quite poor, shipping is very fast.
