Yup, Canada Post pulled the ``P`` stamps. I went this morning to buy some and they were gone!!!!!!!!!! No More. Hasta La Vista Baby! So what are they doing with all those P stamps? Shredding them?

I have mail home delivery service. I'm sure I would get use to walking to a box. Although it is nice to open the door and grab your mail quickly. What about seniors or disabled? Especially if they don't have anyone to pick up their mail. Navigate snowy or icy sidewalks to get to the box etc.

We aren't losing the mail service though, Tara. They're just trying to make it more efficient. They have to do something because CP is losing more and more business as more and more people are doing things online. It's happening everywhere and it really doesn't have anything to do with Harper. The old ways of doing things just aren't sustainable anymore.

this gov't has cut so much from the cbc and now postal service.
both were originally under the gov'ts care ---- notice anything?
when the state grabs your essential services, what is next?
kidding sort of, but am not amused.
have no idea how cpc can save it's self but if people complain as much
as i do about this,,,
could live with 2 or 3 deliveries a week, sorry wob

I saw an interview on the new last night that had me laughing. An economist was saying if CP go private then everyone could compete for the business and it will be cheaper. Somehow I don't think UPS will send a letter from ON to BC for less than 63C. They also said if they go private the price of stamps should fall by about 10%. Well when they are up at $1 that still make stamps 90C so Canadian consumers still pay more and will now always pay more for worse service.

I'm just wondering where they plan on putting these community boxes. I've recently moved to a condo, but I think about my old neighbourhood. I lived on a long street with very little space for sidewalks to begin with. Most areas that already have these boxes are newer developments and where the post box would be located was actually considered during the development of the community. Dropping a post box in some areas is just not practical.
