Hello... Just wondering if anyone knows if there is some kind of law for stores to abide by when it comes to how much they can price items at? This convenience store by my house is ridiculously expensive and I want to complain! Thanks in advance.

I think that in Quebec there's some legislation regarding milk and bread prices. But I think that's all covered.

eta...looks like it's a minimum price law, though.

Convenience stores are always far more expensive for basics than a grocery store. You won't find Walmart prices at the 7-11.

Just avoid buying any non-convenience items at convenience stores, the prices are ALWAYS high because of the convenience of being able to get them there.

All small retailers, especially convenience stores mark-up items much higher than giants like, Wal-mart or Superstore for example. They get stuff directly from the manufacturer and therefore they buy in high quantities, which gives them a lower wholesale price. So if you can by any means avoid buying stuff at convenience stores.

Convenient Stores go wild with their prices, I used to live near one on campus. No access to grocery to store (the nearest over 2 miles with no car).

I ended up renting a car once a month with friends for shopping the whole month supplies. It saved us more money than buying supplies from convenient store near by
