Darth that might just be the type of person you are when you commute on public transit, you prefer to read to your self.
I used public transit growing up and then when I delivered my mail route before I learned to drive I got there by bus, and I do remember enjoying the interactions ( real conversations with other passengers ).
I think what Lynn was saying is things have changed now because almost all commuters have their noses stuck in a device.

This is an amazing, unique, magical film that I would recommend to everyone, with the caveat that it almost certainly will make you go 'ouch', at least if you're paying attention. But I'm pretty sure that you won't have seen anything quite like it before.
