One thing to consider is that it's just till the end of this month for this interest so it's 2 weeks at a higher rate. For Savings account rates, PC is general competitive month to month, so it's not a bad choice if you're just doing Savings/GICs.
I bank with PC Financial for some things but one thing that's happened alot to me lately is bumping into extra costs to moving investments from one bank to another especially if they are RRSPs. I have different expiration dates for 3 RRSPs at PC and if I move them as they mature, I get dinged about $50 each time, so I'm moving them all into a "savings" RRSP (ie. less than almost no interest) till the third is mature and then I'll pay the penalty to switch them.
Regular bank accounts still seem to be okay to close out but it's always worth asking. With low interest rates, it's easy to eat up all your earnings with $50 or $100 transfer fees.

Asked and complained.
Oh yeah - there was the $25 fee for inactivity for a year (it was a savings account) - they did reverse that one, given that I had a very big savings account but gee whiz - that was nuts. Where did that come from? I had 3 other accounts and all were active.
Oh and no warning either.
So I'm very skeptic of the "no fee" as well as "fee" banks now.
