Hello everyone, new here. Been reading this thread for a looong time, and I am soooo very grateful for all the money I have saved with all your tips during a recent financial crisis.
I just wanted to share a little trick I use while shopping... (apologies if its already been shared)
If you want to price check, there's really no need to take the item with you (unless its the last one!). Simply TAKE A PICTURE OF THE BARCODE with your phone. Do try to get a clear picture, but dont do a close up or blow up the barcode, make it "actual size" like. Turn the brightness up and scan the picture at the price checker.
I freqently pc a dozen items at a time - the price checker will give you a little hint / reminder of what the product was with the product name. But dont take too many at once or you really might forget... =/
With this method you can quite literally price check the entire furniture section without breaking a sweat... no product to return to shelf, no mess for the employees. Win-win. Doable even with a toddler in your arm and a baby in the stroller. You can also keep the pictures and check them at other locations - no need to gather the item everytime.
To stick to the thread title... I found some bubble guppies Molly bath dolls scanning at $1.50 (calgary). Theres two version of these dolls, one (older version?) molly with blue tube top and one with green(?) clothes with pearls. Only the older version scans at $1.50. Listed at toysrus $21.99.
Theres also a bubble guppies bath boat toy scanning at $5.50-ish.Last edited by tnd; Sat, Feb 21st, 2015 at 01:56 AM.

Great idea about the photo bar code! I'll take a photo if the item, then a photo of the bar code to remember. 2 photos, I also have an easy app to add text to photo so I can write the price of the decent deals.
The scanner doesn't work near the toy section, so tired of lugging big boxes around the store and hard to do with babyLast edited by mpn77red; Sat, Feb 21st, 2015 at 01:57 AM.

I purchased sunglasses in Cambridge. Regular 18.99, clearance sticker said 11.89, rang in as 5.09 & then 40% off for a final amount of 3.09. Best deal that I found in the store. Not high end sunglasses but they'll do in a pinch especially if you lose a pair.
