Walmart Super Store Brag (Durham Region). YMMV.
Bob's Red Mill golden flax seed, shelf price $4.88, scanned $3.97.
The brag is more about the "dealers" rather than the "deal".
1. Wally's cereal aisle employee -- he helped me find the flax seed. He took me there. TOOK and not pointed. He asked is there anything else. This.is. customer. service.
2. Wally's cashier. She saw me with a flyer and asked if I would like to price match today. ASKED ABOUT PRICE MATCHING. She smiled with the customer before. She smiled with me. She knew her stuff.
3. WallY's customer service department. TWO people working. No long line. Both Wally's ladies smiling and professional.
4. Wally's free magazine. At every cash lane. No way to miss it.
5. Every department had at least ONE employee working. EVERY DEPARTMENT WITH AN EMPLOYEE.
Wally's renewed for 2014 -- New and improved. Congrats on stepping up your game.
I have already e-mailed them to congratulation them.

Yea I would agree with the exception of being able to find people working in every dept.
I was returning something at WM and a guy in front of me was trying to return a car battery he bought and policy is that this is non returnable item and said so on his receipt but the guy threw such a fit and was so loud and verbally abusive that they let him just to get rid of him. I would have called the cops to escort him out if it was my call. Some customers are really mean and not reasonable, I feel bad for associates for having to deal with them.

Sent you a rep.
BTW, I wish the Wally's employees would get more chances. It's easy to reach 3 complaints. I have had 3 when I worked cash. None were justified. Sometimes angry customers make stuff up.
Example, lady came through Express with 25 items instead of 8. Gently reminded her about the limits so I can give faster service. Line was long. People behind were angry. Later, I had to apologize to them for the wait. She swore at me.
Her toddler daughter stood up in the cart. Lady did not see because she was busy texting. I gently told her that her daughter may hit her head on the concrete floor. She swore at me.
Guess what happened. Crying and screaming next with little girl on the floor and cart turned over. We had to call an ambulance (concussion?). How did the lady thank me? Complained to my manager that I did not mind my business.

When Walmart first opened here their policy was to escort you to the item you were looking for. Glad to see they are back to that policy although I doubt we will see that in Quebec.

Oooh. I did not know about the escort policy. I just spoke with the store manager. He was happy to get a positive call. He deals with negative calls all day long. He knew every employee I mentioned. He will let them know that my call was made.
Here's hoping Quebec will come on board too in 2014. I like to hope for some positive things

A different kind of brag for sure but certainly refreshing. It was nice of you to make the store aware of this positive customer service. WM needs consistency in all stores nationwide in extending great customer service to its customers. I guess they are learning from Target.

I've never heard of Wally's before until I realized it's your pet name for Walmart
But yes, sometimes it's easy to rack up the complaints when the employee is just trying to help out."Expecto Patronum!" - Harry Potter

Thanks.
Yes. It's nice to see lovely ladies and gentlemen working at Wally's.
Maybe the Shwa Girl can start a revolution* of excellence in customer service across the country at Wally's.
Oooh. I feel so powerful
*disclaimer: Shwa Girl is not really a revoluntionary person. But if I can make a positive change, I'm gonna try.

Haha I was expecting to see some deals but this brag is awesome too. We really don't give front line workers enough credit. I know I could not work in retail anymore.
