Ministers of Defence of Ukraine and Canada
visit military training field in Western Ukraine
Earlier this week Canada's Minister of National Defence Harjit Sajjan and other Canadian officials travelled to western Ukrainian region of Lviv. As part of the official program Canadian delegation visited International peacekeeping and security centre in Yavoriv, where Canadian troops train Ukrainian soldiers.
During the visit The Minister of Defence of Ukraine joined the Canadian delegation and thanked for their continued support of the Ukrainian army.
Apart from observing the exercises, both Canadian and Ukrainian delegations attended a simulation of combat life-saving practice performed by the Ukrainian soldiers. This was done after the troops completed a 5-day course delivered by the Canadian combat medics.
After the exercises there was an official ceremony, where Minister of Defence of Ukraine awarded medals to both – Ukrainian and Canadian soldiers for their service to Ukraine. This joint service was also recognized by the Canadian Minister of National Defence.
