Forty saboteurs detained in Odesa within anti-terrorist operation

KYIV, April 10 /Ukrinform/. The officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have detained forty saboteurs within the anti-terrorist operation.


Spokesperson for SBU Olena Hitlianska has posted this on Facebook.


"More saboteurs and their accomplices, who intended to disrupt Easter holidays for Odesa residents, are being detained. In general, the SBU officers have detained 40 people, ten of them are suspected of setting up a terrorist organization," reads the statement.


According to Hitlianska, searches do not stop, "A large quantity of weapons and explosives has been seized."

On Thursday, from 18:00 to midnight, militants have fired on the positions of the Ukrainian military 21 times.

"On April 9, the situation in the area of the anti-terrorist operation became more escalated. From 18:00 to midnight, illegal armed groups carried out 21 shelling of our troops along the contact line," reads the statement.

The enemy concentrated the most intense fire in the direction of the Ukrainian positions in the area of Avdiyivka, Pisky, Opytne and Shyrokyne in the Donetsk region, as well as in the area of Pavlopil, Hnutove in the Luhansk region.

The press center also said that during the shelling gangs used 120mm mortars 12 times, that is another gross violation of the Minsk agreements by Russian-terrorist forces. Furthermore, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions near Avdiyivka with 122mm cannons.
