Happy 1 year anniversary to us all.

Some have been with us from the beginning, some have left but in the end we are a great bunch of folks with a appreciation for being frugal by sharing our meal plans, shopping trips, debt repayment(s)/suggestions, recipes, words of encouragement.

We have all had our ups & downs along the way but have always found kind words of encouragement or suggestions during our frugal journeys/paths.

Frugal February Chatter was posted originally by FallenPixels in February 2013, we had 28 pages of post and my word it's interesting to see where we were and how far we have come.

Many of us are from the original thread a year ago, so happy anniversary to us!

And maybe new faces have come and gone but in the end we are blessed to have such a wonderful group of people on here who help in anyway they can by words of encouragement, advice, we've all have our high points and low points, we've had our share of unexpected expenses but all in all we have each other.

    HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO EVERYONE!

2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

Where oh Where did January go.

On another note for everyone in Ontario on Time of Use Hydro, since HydroOne switched to Real Time Billing (or whatever they call it), do you find your billing is inconsistent? Some how in January I got 2 bills and my billing period is only like 20 something day where is I did not get a bill in December because my billing period was something like 36 days????????????????

I also heard a couple of people at work mentioning the same thing and Hydro One seems to have no explanation. Must say it did not make my house expenses for January look good paying 2 Hydro bills in one month in the Winter.

It would all depend on who the person was and how I knew them. I know to some that might sound mean but I do not feel sympathy for people who waste and blow there money and expect hand outs. Do not whine to me that you cannot buy groceries when you have no problem buying smokes and alcohol and ordering in pizza, yes we are all entitled to our treats in life but sometimes as adults we need to prioritize. At the end of the day what is more important Milk or Take Out Pizza????

Agreed SA- I have lent a friend money over the years interest free-Even paid for her purchase at the Brick so she didn't have to pay the $140 Admin charge. She paid me back 10 months later but it pissed me off that she had money to do everything else and didn't tell me what her payback plan was. And same she spends $ on take out and stuff all the time etc so after that I told myself she could figure it out and not to get involved.

Is it 5pm yet? Sunny out here so looking forward to enjoying a bit of sunlight when I'm off work. May go home at lunch I think and get a few things done. Don't really need to shop- Have lots of stuff from freezer to plan meals with. Found leadbetters steak in the freezer that will do us all a nice meal so will bake in the oven Wednesday night I think since we had steak last night. Thinking chicken in the crockpot tomorrow night with veggies and salad etc. Tonight should eat leftovers from the weekend.

I agree with Ashley. We didn`t give our friend money but gave her a lot of things because she didn`t have money to buy them but somehow she always had money to buy her dog new clothes.
We have Dr. appointments this afternoon so will wait til then to do shopping. I`m sure we`ll have new prescriptions to get filled. The sunshine makes me want to get out of the house.
Can`t believe we`ve been on this frugal journey for a whole year. Time has gone by so quickly.

Several times I've kicked in money for someone at the til who was short... and was going to put something back like fruit or veg. I don't judge; one simply doesn't know another's circumstances.

In the past, I've had to go to the store to pay for milk or bread with nickels and dimes... been in that tough place more than once.
