Sobeys? Dollar Days? Woot woot.
Here’s what you can get for $1:
Grape tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, canned tomatoes, sugar
English muffins, Pita bread, dried apricots, horse radish, chicken weiners
Tulip plants, grape hyacinth plants, Oasis juice, waffles, bagels
Pudding, tuna, Kraft dinner, Fruit cup

If you had a $20 bill, you could go shopping at Sobeys and come home with change.

Sobey's sold a lot of their stores off....their Dollar sales seem too little too late here, because by April the store will be gone.

And the employees -- are they out of a job or going to the new store that was sold?

I live about half way between two Sobeys stores. One shut down last weekend, so I have one left. Nothing on the dollar sale appeals to me. I'm still pissed that they finally hired someone who knows how to calculate Sobeys points! No good freebies for a looong time now. Sure missing those English muffin, Unico, pork chop, load up for free point deals!

You know what else pisses me off? (I'm in a mood tonight!)...
Awhile ago the Sobeys cashier I always talk to told me that they would no longer have 50% off meats that were about to expire. Why? Because Sobeys is a "high class" store and they didn't want to seem like a discount store. She said they toss about $800 worth of meat in the dumpster every day. All to be "high class". But now they turn around and open a FRESHCO? Real high class there! Dumb.

This is news to me about Sobey's especially since they are building a new one about 1/2 hour from me...more details please as I obviously missed something.


BTW Delmonte Fruit cups are only .50 cents each if you use the coupon that is out...$1.00 WUB2.

The Sobey's in Aurora has a grand re opening this Friday am ...sounds a bit like whole foods. Info I rec'd in email, below
Great change is that you can load point coupons on your Sobey's loyalty card (good for a month!) no more clipping!
Also $10 gift certificate for first 500 people on Friday morning for the re-opening.
