Happy Easter Dearest Loocie!

I am busy baking pies to take to my fathers tonight. We had company until 3am and I fear this will be a very long day to keep my eyes open LOL.

Wherever you are today, I hope you have had an enjoyable day. It’s Easter & not all of us share the same beliefs, but I think it’s always a good thing to renew your faith & think about what is truly important in your life.

Today would have been my Dad’s birthday. He has been gone for a long time… Dad passed away in January of 1983. I was only 24 years old when we lost him. When I think of how long he’s been gone, all I can do is heave a sigh & realize that he really did have some valuable advice. I wish he had have met my children; though I do see some traits in my boys that remind me of Dad.

You know we are all blessed to have dynamic people in our lives. The space they occupy in our hearts & minds can never be filled when they are gone. Yet they can be a source of inspiration & joy for the rest of our lives. That is how I feel about people in my life who are no longer with us, but so much in my heart.

My Dad was a very hard working guy. We had a lovely family cottage near Gravenhurst. Not posh by Muskoka standards, but so lovely. I always had a place to spend my summers there. I learned to swim, play cribbage, canoe, ski, rumoli, hearts & not to mention all the great books that were up there.

I am waiting impatiently for Abigail to wake up LOL. I am sure she has already been up and fed already and I missed it. No worries though I am sure she will be up soon full of smiles and giggles.
