3 Years & counting

After a fire burnt down my place of employment just over three years ago I needed someway to help add to our income and stay at home at the same time. It was three years ago today I found Smart Canucks and have never looked back.

I just wanted to take the time today to give every SC'er on here a big thumbs up :top: as I have learned so much and I am sure I will learn so much more. I have found such a friendly and helpful community, received freebies galore both on line and though shopping deals, traded with many, entered contests more frequently (sometimes winning), built a stockpile, learned store policies, received valuable information, make more charitable donations, so many helpful tips, found great recipes and so much more from SC'ers postings. I can't forget Swagbucks either (whoever I signed up through...double thanks) even though I was skeptical at first but not anymore.

I love the fact that I have been able to stay at home rather than work and still help DH even though he does get tired about hearing about SC at times. I may have had a hard time at the beginning getting him to use coupons, price match and SCOP but not anymore as he has now seen the benefits to our financial goals and it didn't hurt any when I won him a X Box 360.

So, thanks again to each and every Smart Canuck out there to making this site such a super fantastic place to hang out in. Have a super day everyone!!! :biggrin:

I lurked for a long time before signing up and as soon as I signed up I wondered what took me so long? lol. SC has become my 2nd home. It's the ONLY site I have to check daily.

Certainly makes being a SAHM much easier as now I know how to stretch every dollar! :)

I plan to go back to work when DS is in school and I'm already wondering how bad my SC withdrawl will be. lmao.

Many SCer's while reading this were probably nodding their heads in agreement. We share similar stories about how using coupons and finding buying techniques has changed our lives for ever.

I'm like you coupongirl i've couponed for over 25 years but certainly stepped up the savings since I joined SC (5 years ago) I keep saying i'll be taking this couponing hobby into retirement. WHY WOULDN'T WE when we can get so much for next to nothing. Right now I have a senior helping me out by collecting inserts at her apartment building. She called me up on Friday to say she had about 60 Smartsource for me. In exchange I take her food, toothbrushes/paste, softsoap, etc and dog treats. Its a win win as she is on a limited income. I too have learned so much. Feeling blessed!!!

Whenever I am on the internet I have to check out SC first!. Some people have come and gone (and they are missed!), but there are a core of "die hard troopers" that still carry on. To everyone that contributes to make this a great big family--thank you!!!

OP, glad your spouse got "something for him" when you won the game system. New things usually take time but when a routine develops with saving money, you are on cloud nine!
