I am considering the Checkout51 and SnapSaves like a "sock-under-the-bed" method of saving. It will take a long time before I reach the "send-me-a-cheque" stage and by then, unless they tell me, I won't know what I saved money on. So "found money." It's like the bank account that "rounds up" your cheques and puts them into a savings account for you.
I usually have a little "secret stash" hidden around my home - right now - empty, empty and empty. So if anyone knocks on the door hoping for a donation, I'm afraid, they're out of luck!
That reminds me, I'm supposed to be canvassing for The Kidney Foundation this month and also wrapping up my "captain" job for the Heart and Stroke campaign. Better get moving!

What do you use your "found money" for?

I save all my change that is in my purse at the end of each month and save it towards Christmas. When my Snap saves and Check out 51 reach $50 I cash out and deposit those checks (as well as any rebates and MIRS) in a separate bank account towards Christmas as well. With that money added to Sobeys, Shoppers, and now PC points it really adds up to make Christmas affordable. I was thinking of cashing out the two apps at $100 but I am afraid of the programs ending with my money!!!

any spare change that I manage to have always ends up going into DH's palm when he begs for his
" Tim's " coffee money on the way out the door to work! The only stash we have is the one on his upper lip. lol!

I have had checkout 51 since I got my iphone last February. I already have received $260 in rebates. To clarify: there are many times when I don't get any of the offers. My husband and I are vegans and don't eat much processed foods. I do enjoy the rebates for medicines, beauty products and Christie cookies for kids snacks though (plus oreos are vegan!!)!

I just started using snap saves last month and already have $15. I find the offers go quick is all but I love they have fresh fruits and veggies.

I also use cart smart. Which deposits into my paypal account. I have had it for a month an already have $6! There are less offers but it is a good app. I am going to treat paypal as a savings account and use cartsmart, ebates and swagbucks to put $in for Christmas too.

Very smart to put in an education account, after putting one through University and 2 through college (one more to go!!) I can tell you from experience it is costly!!

At first DH told me he didn't want Checkout 51 in his name. Then when I showed him the cheque for the one in my name he said he wants one and will use it as a cruise fund

Well I have only cashed out once on CO51 before Christmas. It was $40 some odd dollars I put towards my Christmas shopping!
Now I have almost $50 I my account and I haven't decided what I will spend it on yet! Considering using it towards DS's Bday party in June or towards a wk of summer camp for DS's..maybe I will be selfish and spend it on myself for a change!

As for SnapSaves I just joined in January and have about $5 so far and growing!

We are going on a big family trip over the Remembrance Day long weekend in November so right now my apps are collecting money for the trip. I figure its an easy way to put money aside without it physically being in my hands to spend else where!

I use all three apps and all my saving are going toward getting DH a new laptop as a surpise, plus any rebates too.

I haven`t got enough on CO51 to cash out yet. I`m saving my PC Plus points for groceries in July. We pay our heating oil on the budget plan and I`m expecting to have to pay quite a bit extra this summer because they didn`t raise our monthly payment last fall.

How do you upload receipts in cart smart? I bought a few offers before but gave up on this.
