Thread: First reaction?

Let me describe a situation and please reply with what your first reaction would be.
Suppose that one night you and your significant other stopped at a pizza shop to pick up a pizza. This is in a small city with a relatively low crime rate (Moncton, NB), and the pizza shop is no where near the "bad part of town". Upon, leaving the pizza shop and heading toward your parked vehicle, you notice that three people are about to get into your car.
What do you automatically assume?
a) They mistakenly thought your car was their own.
b) They were attempting to steal your car.
This situation happened to me and my husband (boyfriend at the time) about 10 years ago. I assumed (a). He assumed (b). To this day, he uses this example as proof that I'm naïve, that I have my head in the clouds, that I need to be more realistic. To end the story, as we approached and questioned what they were doing, they said they had the wrong car and moved on to another car parked farther down the row. That was the end of it. We went back to my apartment and ate pizza.
What would your first reaction be: (a) or (b)?This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I have to lol a bit because this reminds me of DH & I.
I would say B - He would say A
I have to ask did the car they ended up getting into look like your car? If so could have been a simple mistake, otherwise I'd think they just made up an excuse because they were caught.

I would have to say "B" cause our car was stolen out of our yard 12 years ago. Dude wrecked it an hour later and got 2 years less a day!

Yep, definitely would have gone back into the pizza place and called 911.
Btw...you might want to remind him of one statistic of a happy marriage: by-gones should stay by-gones, they should
stay in the past where they belong and never to be brought up ever again, particularly if it's to tease the other person.
Not good.
