this is so funny because this morning there was a short news item on the cbc crawl about a teen ( 17 yr old Tyler Campbell of Uxbridge, Ont ) who has decided to put together a database of Canadian products made by Canadian workers or made by Companies that are fully Canadian owned.

Tyler thought he would assist any Canadians who now feel they want to buy products from these companies in response to Donald Trumps' tariffs and currently escalating trade war. Everything from chocolates to grill brushes apparently.

However, it can seem like a mixed bag of murkiness because " made In Canada " ( meaning the last major transformative step was done in Canada) and " product of Canada " ( meaning all or most of the product was produced in Canada ) are two very different things.

    An interesting note :
Chapman's which is super-Canadian ice cream— but it turns out they can't grow vanilla beans here so all or most of their products are not completely made in Canada.

Also included on Tylers' list are Companies that support Canadian labour .
An example is Jos. Louis which is owned by a Mexican holding company, but the product is
made in Canada and supports Canadian jobs.

If we go to the level of individual ingredients, a lot of things probably aren't completely Canadian. For instance, are there any Canadian growers of black pepper?
