So, I just checked my credit score and it's excellent . Now it's not a perfect 850 ( not sure that's even possible ) but I'd like to get as close to that as I can. So I already never carry a balance on my CC, pay in before the due date, etc but is there anything else I can do?

Sad to say, but you doing the opposite of what is best to get a higher credit score.
If you CARRY a balance each month, and faithfully pay at least the minimum payment, you actually have
a higher credit score as opposed to paying the off balance off each month.
I know because I do the same, pay it off before the due date. It is a catch 22. I refuse to give them interest,
but it hurts my score. Go figure!Last edited by maggiespice; Sun, Apr 6th, 2014 at 12:22 PM.

I always pay in full..... would never pay interest just to have a higher credit score. I'm sure mine is in the high 700's, so I couldn't care less about getting it higher. Have never been turned down for any credit products. Any reason why you want it near 850?

No, not really I just want to have the best score possible and was thinking there were some "tricks" to make that happen.

8 Ways to Keep Good Credit
- Manage your finances wisely and use common sense.
- Pay your bills on time.
- Don’t borrow more than you can afford to repay in a reasonable length of time.
- Don’t apply for credit too often.
- Establish emergency savings. This will help you to not rely on credit when tough times come or unexpected things happen.
- If something bad should happen, communicate with your creditors right away.
- Resolve all credit disputes quickly. Although you may think you are in the right, if the dispute drags on and you don’t make your payments, your credit rating will be hurt—even if the problem wasn’t your fault.
- Check your credit report once a year to make sure that no one else has applied for credit using your name.
